Villa 10/3 for Top 6 Finish after signing Tielemans on a free

Aston Villa are 10/34.33 on the Betfair Sportsbook to record a Top 6 Finish in the Premier League next season after signing Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans on a free transfer.

Tielemans was the subject of much transfer talk prior to last season given that he had just 12 months left on his contract, with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United all showing an interest in the midfielder.

But no club was willing to stump up the asking price - rumoured to be around £20m at the time - meaning he played out his contract with Leicester, who would go on to be relegated.

And with Tielemans' contract expiring on Friday, Aston Villa were the club to move fastest and sign the Belgian international on a free transfer.

The signing can be classed as a bit of a coup for Villa boss Unai Emery who will be looking to build on last season's excellent form since he replaced Steven Gerrard.

Villa finished seventh last season, just one point behind Brighton in sixth, and with 26-year-old Tielemans aready added to the squad hopes are high that the club can progress further this term.
