Vincent Kompany's Burnley are 9/110.00 to pull off a famous victory over his old club Manchester City in the opening match of the Premier League 2023/24 season.

The promoted Clarets' home clash with the champions on Friday 11 August is one of several mouthwatering fixtures on an opening weekend which also sees Chelsea host Liverpool in Mauricio Pochettino's first match in charge of the Blues.

Kompany played for City from 2008-2019 so probably needs no reminding of their excellent record against Burnley.

The east Lancashire club have won just one of their last 23 league matches against the Citizens (D6 L16) and have lost the last eight in a row by an aggregate score of 26-1.
