Saturday's Premier League tips and predictions

12:30 - Tottenham v Aston Villa: Unders the value bet for goal-shy duo

Dave Tindall: Having scored just one goal between them in the league this season, Under 2.5 Goals at 10/11 immediately widens the eyes. But is this a trap? Possibly. Villa have started to score freely in the cups, beating Club Brugge 3-2 (Champions League) and Coventry 3-1 (Carabao). Their 2-1 home loss to Forest also went over 2.5, as did Tottenham's loss at Anfield.

But most of that mixed evidence comes from cups when starting XIs are juggled and there's more freedom to be had.

Both look a little uptight in the Premier League so Under 2.5 is the call. For those who fancy a clean sheet for at least one of the struggling pair, No in the Both Teams to Score market is 6/5.

15:00 - Newcastle v Hull: Alan Shearer's prediction

Alan Shearer: This is a big game for Newcastle. Hull have been brilliant and are still unbeaten. No one ever would have predicted that. But their run might come to an end on Saturday. I'm going to go home win for Newcastle, but they have to bounce back. They cannot afford another performance like they had on Monday against Leeds.

Hull have definitely been a surprise package so far in the Premier League. They've been amazing in everything they've done. Scoring two against Chelsea should have seen them beat them last week, but they got a good result anyway, but it would have been amazing if they would have taken all three points. They've been brilliant in every department.

Newcastle need to be better in everything they do, because Monday night was nowhere near good enough. It was miles off what we've seen. They were bullied. Leeds did to Newcastle what Newcastle were doing to teams a few years ago, where they bullied them. And that can't happen too many times. So that has to change on Saturday and I think it will. Home win for Newcastle.

15:00 - Brighton v Arsenal Tip: Saka to strike in 11/43.75 Gunners win

Paul Higham: Don't be surprised to see a penalty given here at 6/42.50 after Mikel Arteta's rant at Sunderland, and look for Brighton to at least test David Raya, as they've had 5+ shots on target in all four games so far. But you have to back the Gunners and instead of gambling on Brighton finding the net or not I'd rather chance Bukayo Saka to get his regular goal at the Amex - for the fourth game running!

15:00 - Everton v Ipswich: Back Moyes to outwit O'Neil again

The Opta Stat: Ipswich manager Gary O'Neil has lost all four of his Premier League games against Everton's David Moyes, his joint most defeats against another manager (four vs Erik ten Hag and Mikel Arteta); O'Neil is the manager that Moyes has faced most without dropping a point.

17:30 - Nottm Forest v Coventry: Back Gibbs-White and Munoz shots at 7/24.50

Mike Norman: Coventry have conceded 35 shots in their two Premier League away games this term, and in their two recent home games they conceded a total of 40 shots. So I'd be disappointed if Forest don't register close to 20 shots in this game, and that brings in Gibbs-White and Munoz.

Gibbs-White has registered exactly three shots in each of Forest's home games this term, but given those matches were against Leeds and Tottenham, I'm happy to chance that he'll register at least four shots against Coventry. Munoz had two shots in his only game for Crystal Palace this season, and he had one on his first start for Forest at Villa last week. He should be capable of at least two here.

Saturday's EFL tips and predictions

12:30 Championship - Millwall v West Ham: Back the Hammers to prevail in the Dockers Derby

Jack Critchley: One of the most-anticipated Championship fixtures of the season gets underway on Saturday lunchtime as West Ham make the short trip to the Den.

From a Millwall perspective, this feels like an unfortunate time to be facing your rivals with the Hammers having just stuck six past Wrexham and looking to extend their unbeaten run in the second tier to four games. Nuno's men were beaten by Fulham in the League Cup in midweek, but that isn't likely to dent their confidence.

The Lions drew 2-2 with Middlesbrough on Tuesday night, producing a wonderful first-half display, before capitulating in the second period. Alex Neil's side have been hit by a series of injuries, which has decimated their squad and prevented them from changing games with their bench.

12:30 Championship - Cardiff v Charlton: Back 4/1 bet builder

Ste Tudor: No second-tier team have taken on more shots than the Bluebirds. In fact, no-one else comes close, their 17.9 per 90 a testament to manager Brian Barry-Murphy's attacking philosophy. Yet Cardiff are still winless, their pitiful 4.2% chance conversion ratio costing them dearly.

As for the Addicks, they have responded well to their four-goal thumping at Stoke by keeping consecutive clean sheets. The problem is, they haven't scored either. Indeed, they last converted nearly five hours ago.

15:00 L1 - Reading v Notts County: Back the Draw

Alan Dudman: In seven league and cup games, Notts County have managed five draws including a pair of 1-1s against Yorkshire duo Huddersfield and Doncaster on the road, and I don't want to deviate too far from a tight game.

The value play here is surely going for the 11/4 against a Reading side providing plenty of entertainment at home.

County boss Martin Paterson, who has a look of Frank Lampard senior, oversaw his first loss of the season on Saturday against Bradford, who surely will be promotion candidates and not a lot was in the game.

Saturday's Serie A tips and predictions

17:00 - Roma v Inter: Back Malen in bet builder

Kevin Hatchard: This is a fascinating battle between title contenders who both have perfect records. Gian Piero Gasperini's Roma are only ahead of the champions on goal difference, and both teams are scoring freely in the opening weeks of the campaign.

The Roma charge is being led by former Dortmund and Aston Villa forward Donyell Malen, who has 21 goals in 25 competitive games since he moved to the Italian capital in January. He has scored six Serie A goals already this term, and the Dutchman has had at least two shots on target in three of his four league appearances.
