Milan need a point to make last-16
AC Milan just need to avoid defeat against Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Chelsea have already won Group E. Milan are second, a point ahead of third placed Red Bull Salzburg, who can qualify themselves if they claim victory at the San Siro. In the reverse fixture, AC Milan can back from a goal down to draw 1-1 in Salzburg.
The Serie A champions suffered a blow to their hopes of retaining their title over the weekend, as they lost 2-1 at Torino. That ended a run of three straight wins.
Red Bull Salzburg lost 2-1 at home to Chelsea last week, but bounced back over the weekend with a 1-0 win against Hartberg. The defeat to Chelsea is their only loss in the last 19 games (W12 D6).
Everything points to Salzburg being competitive
AC Milan are the 1.564/7 favourites, with the draw at 4.67/2 and Red Bull Salzburg at 6.411/2.
Though Milan should be favoured given their home advantage, it does seem like Salzburg are being a little underestimated. The Austrians' defeat at home to Chelsea was a narrow one and they claimed an away point at Stamford Bridge.
Salzburg have found the net in all five of their games, but they have not been the free-scoring side that we've seen in past seasons.
They've yet to score more than once in a match and that suggests that though they have to go for victory here, the scoreline should be fairly tight. You can back both teams to score and under 3.5 goals to land at 3.29229/100.
