Mateo Kovacic to be booked
Mateo Kovacic looks set to start in place of the suspended Rodri who will be a huge loss here for Pep Guardiola's Manchester City. With Kevin De Bruyne still missing through injury and Kovacic an unused substitute midweek in the Champions League win at RB Leipzig, Kovacic looks certain to return to the line-up in this huge Premier League clash.
Kovacic was shown the yellow card in last week's Premier League defeat to Wolves and City will be desperate to bounce straight back here against a formidable Arsenal side that beat them last time the sides met in August in the Community Shield.
Kovacic is averaging one foul committed and one foul received per game this season for Manchester City which is similar to his stats for Chelsea last season.
Kovacic was booked when he faced Arsenal back in May for his former side.
Kai Havertz to be booked
Arsenal and German Midfielder Kai Havertz is finally off the mark with a well taken penalty against Bournemouth last weekend. Havertz has become a regular starter for Mikel Arteta's Gunners since his summer move from rivals Chelsea and looks set to keep his place here.
Havertz is averaging a huge 2.21 fouls per game and on the receiving end of 1.81 fouls per game showing he is always in the thick of the action and is not afraid to get stuck in. Havertz has already received three yellow cards this season for Arsenal and is closing in on matching the five he received last season for Chelsea.
Havertz was booked inside 30 minutes last time he played against Manchester City just two months ago in the Community Shield. Havertz was also booked back in May when he faced Man City for his former side, by Michael Oliver who is the man in the middle again here.
The match official - Michael Oliver
Referee for this huge Premier League clash featuring last year's Champions and the runners-up is the highly experienced Michael Oliver.
He has shown 22 yellow cards in his five Premier League games so far this season, averaging 4.4 cards per game. In all of the 11 games Oliver has officiated this season he has averaged 5.45 yellow cards per game and is yet to award a red card this season.
