Germany still unbeaten under Flick

Hansi Flick has now gone 10 games unbeaten as Germany boss but although he's got plenty of young talent coming through he's just struggled to find the right formula of late.

A friendly draw with the Netherlands was followed by a 1-1 against a much-changed Italy in their Nations League opener - and Flick will want a bit more heading into the World Cup.

A competitive home tie with England in Munich should get the juices flowing though, especially with Germany in the strange position of wanting revenge after being knocked out by the Three Lions at Euro 2020.

That loss at Wembley was Germany's last, and at home they've enjoyed five thumping wins against lower-ranked sides along with that eventful 2-2 draw with Hungary at the Euros.

Southgate on the back foot

It wasn't great in Budapest was it? With England looking a bit disjointed and leggy in their 1-0 defeat to open up their Nations League campaign.

The doom mongers are out in force again after that result, but let's remember that Gareth Southgate did get England to within a penalty shootout of winning the Euros - and the defeat in Hungary was their first 90-minute loss in 23 games.

Southgate's selection and substitutions were also questioned - again though we have to remember these four games are coming hot on the heels of a long, hard season. Southgate has to manage player minutes as well as fan expectations.

While there are creditable excuses, England will need to show more against Germany and Southgate has selection issues - with Raheem Sterling still struggling, James Justin injured in Hungary and Trent Alexander-Arnold looking dead on his feet.

Maybe a return to Munich can conjure up a repeat of England's famous 5-1 victory - a performance which incredibly is now 21 years old!

Germany favourites for revenge

The hosts are well fancied at 2.26/5 with England out to 3.412/5 following that lacklustre display in Hungary, while given recent results the draw is in play here at 3.211/5.

We shouldn't really expect too many goals - four of the last five meetings between the two have had under 2.5 goals - so it's no surprise to see the unders favoured at 1.834/5.

It's odd when you consider the attacking players both squads have, but games in June are tough on these players and despite criticism I wouldn't expect Southgate to go gung-ho here.

Germany also haven't conceded a first-half goal in the last six games, so I'd definitely be looking at the half-time draw at 2.26/5.

Havertz to be a big threat

Selections are everything for not only this game but the two that will follow in this jam-packed schedule.

Harry Kane will want to play every game as he chases his 50th England goal and Wayne Rooney's scoring record.

The bookies maybe don't expect him to start given he's 3.259/4 to score anytime and only just a touch shorter than Tammy Abraham, who is 3.39/4 and should get plenty of playing time in this game.

We could also see Conor Gallagher here to inject a bit of energy into proceedings, while Jack Grealish and Bukayo Saka could start after coming off the bench to use their running ability.

Saka is 3.259/4 and Grealish is 3.185/40 in the score or assist market which would be the best way to keep them on side - with Grealish just getting the nod if you have to select just one.

For Germany, Kai Havertz could well start and after four goals and four assists in his last 12 he's a strong 2.47/5 shout to have a goal involvement against England.
