Premier League Tips and Predictions

12:30 - Chelsea v Fulham: In-form pair can land 12/1 Bet Builder

Dave Tindall: "I like a goalscorer double on two very obvious choices, one from each team. For Chelsea, Cole Palmer still looks the most likely man in a blue shirt to find the net and he's their top scorer in the Premier League with an impressive eight goals. Only nine players are above him in the Golden Boot race.

"As Palmer is on penalty duties, he has a good chance to move towards double figures here.

"For Fulham, Raul Jimenez looks a genuine threat again as highlighted by five goals in his last seven top-flight appearances.

"Backing both Palmer and Jimenez to wheel away in celebration at some point during the game pays a tempting 12/1 on the Bet Builder."

Newcastle v Man City: Visitors to start title charge

Paul Higham: "Everyone seemed to forget about Man City after a couple of dodgy results in December before disappearing for the World Club Cup, but they'll go second with a win at Newcastle on Saturday.

"Their little jaunt to the Middle East served as a training and bonding trip really and they've returned refreshed and reinvigorated with a couple of wins to remind everyone wy they're 8/11 favourites to win the league again.

"Only Liverpool survived the busy Christmas period relatively unscated, only with injuries mounting and cup committments even they'll be stretched to keep up with the impending burst from City - as Pep Guardiola's side regularly move up a gear in the New Year.

"And they've got Kevin De Bruyne back in action too - which all adds up to them being 4/7 away favourites and spells danger for Newcastle, who had a festive period to forget with three really bad defeats."

EFL Tips and Predictions

12:30 Championship - Coventry v Leicester: Opportunity to oppose Foxes?

Mark O'Haire: "Coventry come into the weekend's match having suffered a solitary league defeat since early November (W6-D4-L1) with the Sky Blues also falling to just one home reverse at the CBS Arena this season (W5-D7-L1). Mark Robins' men represent a tough nut to crack and have the ability to frustrate the runaway Championship leaders this weekend.

"Of course, Leicester command maximum respect having already tabled top honours in 21 of their 26 Championship contests, picking up maximum points in 10 of 13 away days. Enzo Marasca's outfit have also secured victories in three of four trips to top-10 opponents, whilst dropping points just once since the start December.

"Even so, the Foxes are missing a few key cogs in the final-third and were given a tough time in the reverse clash by Coventry back in August. With the Sky Blues now close to full-strength, in fine recent form, and boasting a solid long-term record in front of their own supporters, the recipe could be in-place for a potential upset in the East Midlands."

15:00 Championship - West Brom v Blackburn: Back another home win for Baggies

Jack Critchley: "Only Leicester have conceded fewer home goals than West Brom this season. The Baggies are superb at the Hawthorns and Carlos Corberan has got his injury-hit side extremely well-organised here. The aforementioned Leicester are the only side to have beaten them here since the beginning of September and they arrive here off the back of consecutive clean sheets. With just four goals shipped since September 2nd, Blackburn could find it tough to breach this formidable back-line.

"The visitors have actually won five times on the road this season, yet they arrive in the Black Country in a bit of a slump. Having lost four consecutive games away from home, they've hit a bit of a bump in the road and although their FA Cup win will have restored some confidence, they have lost all four away ties against top eight sides and are likely to chalk up another defeat here."

15:00 Championship Birmingham v Swansea: Back Andy Robson's 6/1 four-fold

Andy Robson: "Tony Mowbray is the steady, experienced voice at the helm of Saturday's hosts while the visitors have employed Luke Williams, a man who aligns far more with the perceived philosophy of the Swans.

"Both Mowbray and Williams like their sides to play attacking football and be on the front foot. They want to create chances and dominate the ball. The plan for both is to put their stamp on things as quickly as possible to unite their fanbases.

"There is a lot of vulnerability to contend with, however. Confidence hasn't been high in either camp because of messy campaigns and poor decisions by their boards, meaning both sides should get opportunities here. Williams' Notts County side saw both sides score in two-thirds of their league matches across a season and a half while Blues have kept only three clean sheets in their last 18 outings."

EFL League One & League Two Tips: Go with goals with Fergie again in 14/1 acca

Alan Dudman: "Charlton are without a League One victory in seven, and in that run we have witnessed four draws. The outright back of the draw is a possibility, but the hosts are a side I can never trust. They have however been involved in a high percentage of BTTS game in that run - six in fact. So it's no surprise to see the BTTS at around 1/2 on the Sportsbook.

"Peterborough are unbeaten in five league visits to Charlton (W3 D2), keeping a clean sheet in three of these and this term have seven road victories with just 16 conceded.

"They have also been involved in a few high-scorers of late, including the recent Sky game and their brilliant 2-3 win at Derby - a game where they dominated the ball completely. Two goals came in the first 10 minutes on that occasion."

European Football Tips & Predictions

17:30 Bundesliga - Darmstadt v Dortmund: Back BVB -1

Kevin Hatchard: "Dortmund have dug into their past on and off the field in a bid to get the domestic season going. Former Dortmund stars Nuri Sahin and Sven Bender have come in as Terzic's assistants, while Jadon Sancho has returned to the club on loan after a disastrous move to Manchester United.

"Sancho isn't expected to make an instant impact, but his strong relationship with Terzic gives the England international at least a chance of rediscovering his best form. If he can link up with old friends like Julian Brandt and Marco Reus effectively, this move could prove to be a really smart piece of business.

"Dortmund aren't usually to be trusted on the road, but Darmstadt are rock-bottom, and I think Dortmund can overwhelm them. The Lilies have the worst defensive record in the division, having leaked 41 goals in 16 games, and they have lost ten of their 16 matches, including four of the last five at home."

17:30 La Liga Tips - Athletic Bilbao v Real Sociedad: Back Basque derby draw

Jamie Kemp: "Athletic are the team with momentum on their side, coming into this one on a nine-game unbeaten streak in La Liga, including wins in their last three. At San Mames, meanwhile, they haven't lost since the opening day of the campaign against Real Madrid.

"Real Sociedad, for their part, come into this one also on a pretty healthy unbeaten streak. They haven't lost any of their last seven in La Liga, although wins have been harder to come by for them. There's no panic or dramatic fall-off from their levels of last season, but the responsibility of European football - where they've been fantastic - has undoubtedly affected their domestic strength."

Africa Cup of Nations Tips and Predictions

20:00 Africa Cup of Nations Tips - Ivory Coast v Guinea Bissau: Hosts to make dazzling start

James Eastham: "Ivory Coast's terrific warm-up result was in stark contrast to opponents Guinea Bissau's solo friendly outing: the Wild Dogs suffered a 6-2 thrashing at the hands of Mali on January 6.

"The defensive woes on show in that game are a real concern for Guinea Bissau. The lack of a settled starting line-up is another genuine worry for manager Baciro Cande and his players.

"Given the difference in quality between these two sides, and the fact that Ivory Coast enter the tournament in fine scoring form while Guinea Bissau's defending looks so flawed, the Asian Handicap market is the way to play.

"Ivory Coast are available with a -1.5 Asian Handicap start at around 1.9 on the Exchange. For this selection to pay out, the hosts must win by two or more goals. We're happy to back them to do so."
