Premier League Winner

There's no change at the top of the table, with Arsenal 8/131.61, Manchester City 13/102.30 and Aston Villa 13/102.30 all winning in matchday 17, although City were top after their 3-0 win over West Ham on Saturday afternoon, only for the Gunners to regain leadership after beating Everton a few hours later.

The market is clear that punters believe the title race is between Arsenal and City. The latter have won five games in a row and there form is ominous for their rivals.

Villa are a big price to win the league but it is seven league wins in a row for Unai Emery's men and Sunday's victory against Manchester United means Villa Park's growing reputation as a fortress remains intact.

Liverpool 28/129.00 won for the second week in a row with a chaotic 2-1 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The result saw the champions climb to fifth in the table and 10 points off the summit.

Premier League Top 4  and Top 6 Finish

The Betfair market on which teams will finish in the top four are indicates that Liverpool will put their recent difficulties behind them in the second-half of the season.

The Reds are 4/111.36 to guarantee themselves a place in next season's Champions League - a shorter price than Villa 4/51.80 and Chelsea 4/51.80, both of whom are currently above Liverpool in third and fourth respectively.

Manchester United were always outsiders for a top four finish and yesterday's defeat at Villa - United's fifth of the season - leaves them 5/16.00 and seventh in the table.

A top six finish is a more realistic target for Ruben Amorim's men at 11/102.11.

Newcastle are 11/43.75 for the top six after they surrendered a 2-0 lead to draw with Chelsea on Saturday. Crystal Palace's 3/14.00 hopes of landing a Europa League spot were dealt a blow by their 4-1 defeat at Leeds.

Premier League Relegation

Betfair suspended the betting on Wolves in the relegation market after the Old Gold lost 2-0 at home to Brentford on Saturday. They have taken just two points from their 17 matches and are on course for a record low points total.

Ninteenth-placed Burnley took a point at Bournemouth but it is wins that the Clarets need if they are to defy odds of 1/5001.00 and stay up.

West Ham have a poor record against Manchester City and were soon playing for damage limitation when they went down 3-0 at the Etihad. The Hammers are 1/21.50 to be relegated and the market indicates that, with Wolves and Burnley looking all but certain to go down, the battle is on to avoid becoming the third team to fall into the Championship.

Leeds 5/16.00 gave their chances of survival a boost with their victory over Palace, while resurgent Forest 6/17.00 can leapfrog Fulham 12/113.00 if the Trickey Trees win in west London tonight.
