Forest to appoint Pereira
Betting was suspended on the next Nottingham Forest manager after reports that the favourite Vitor Pereira was set to become the club's fourth manager of the season.
The Portugese was 4/111.36 this morning - see earlier update below - and was said to be in talks with the City Ground club.
Pereira previously managed Wolves in the Premier League, leaving in November when they were still winless, after taking over last year and steering the Molineux club to safety.
His job at Forest will be to keep them in the Premier League after last night's 0-0 draw with Wolves left the Tricky Trees 17th in the table and 11/43.75 for relegation
Pereira will be the fourth manager this season at Forest, following Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou and, until yesterday, Sean Dyche.
If his appointment is confirmed, Pereira's first match in charge will be Forest's Europa League play-off away to Fenerbahce next Thursday. Three days later, Forest host Liverpool in the Premier League.
Pereira favourite to become Forest's fourth manager of season
Vitor Pereira is the favourite to become Nottingham Forest's fourth manager of the 2025/26 season after the Premier League club sacked Sean Dyche.
Dyche follows Ange Postecoglou and Nuno Espirito Santo, who were dismissed by Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis earlier this season, out of the City Ground.
Pereira, who is 4/111.36 on the Betfair Sportsbook to get the Forest job, previously worked for Marinakis at Olympiakos.
The Portuguese, who left Wolves earlier this season, was reported to be in talks with the east Midlands club on Thursday morning.
Thomas Frank, who was sacked by Tottenham yesterday, is 5/16.00 second favourite, if he wants a swift return to management.
Dyche's sacking followed Wednesday evening's 0-0 draw against Wolves at the City Ground in a game in which the hosts had an incredible 35 shots at goal without finding the back of the net. The result left Forest 17th in the Premier League table and 11/43.75 for relegation.
We will have more updates on the Forest vacancy as the news unfolds and the Betfair market reacts.
