League One

Leg 1: Huddersfield x Oxford United Tip: Back Huddersfield @ 3/41.75

Martin Drury's Huddersfield are one of the pace-setters in League One with seven points from their three games, and a Joe Taylor double on Saturday including a late penalty got us a winning single for the column.

It also prompted Cambridge boss Neil Harris to say it was mugged off dot com.

The game hinged on the Taylor quality at the end as Cambridge limited a good Huddersfield team to barely a chance, but Drury at least saw another side to his team's character as they cannot always dominate games with the ball.

At 3/41.75 against Oxford the game could suit as Huddersfield in the three matches so far are not, or haven't been a possession based team.

It has not stopped them by scoring in every game, and their xG at Mk Dons with a lower ball retention rate was an excellent 2.28.

Leg 2: Bromley v Leyton Orient Tip: BTTS 'Yes' @ 8/111.73

Bromley experienced a new kind of league opponent in Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday in a complete drubbing losing 7-2.

The Owls had a massive 15 shots on target and while Orient cannot really boast the likes of Mason Burstow and Louie Barry in terms of firepower, the O's are scoring an conceding this term as two of their three so far have hit the BTTS and Over 2.5 Goals.

Orient's xA at already 1.68 has to be of great concern, and Bromley at least have scored in every game League One and Carabao Cup thus far.

Leg 3: Doncaster Rovers v Notts County Tip: Back the draw @ 13/53.60

Two draws out of three so far for Grant McCann's Donny, and they face a team already that could be described as a "draw specialist" with three out of four league and cup and could have been four on Saturday but for a late winner.

The draw bet has already copped a couple of times for the tipsheet this team with Bromley v Cambridge and Saturday's Port Vale Crewe stalemate, and I am finding this a tough one to split.

Notts County's home xG at 1.88 is serious, but the away xG less so at 0.88. And if Doncaster play like they did against Barnsley we could be in for another stalemate, as Donny showed virtually no courage in terms of attack and bravery on the ball.

League Two

Leg 1: Rochdale v Shrewsbury Town Tip: Back The Draw @ 13/53.60

Shrewsbury manager Gavin Cowan got the perfect response to his side's EFL Cup thrashing against Fleetwood by causing one of the big shocks of the weekend against Salford - the moneybags outfit that have lost all three games.

It's been an underwhelming start for the Shrews save for Saturday's win, and while Salford were priced up as Champions before a ball had been kicked, we shouldn't be going overboard on what could be a one-off.

Rochdale's season has been even worse. Three straight defeats has already got manager Ian Watson and he needs to divert away from the chaos in the second-half against Colchester.

The hosts will take any sort of result and a point to get something on the board, and Shrewsbury don't exactly look like a team that are going to hurt you in the final third. A low xG number with the hosts at 0.87 gives us a steer into what we can expect.

Leg 2: Northampton Town v Crawley Town Tip: Back The Draw @ 29/103.90

Northampton fans hoping for a good start to life in League Two have been left rather disappointed and remain without a victory.

Saturday's 1-1 with Gillingham was a dreadful game in poor conditions by all accounts and Chris Hogg praised the side's character at least, rather than any ball-playing exploits.

The hosts are a terrible price here at 8/111.73, and they've only scored once thus far.

Crawley have faced some tough opposition in their three games but did at least score twice at Rochdale.

I think both managers still have a bit to prove and neither appeals as a win bet, while Northampton's limitations in front of goal so far means the draw looks a fair bet.

Leg 3: Chesterfield v Gillingham Tip: Back Chesterfield @ 1/21.50

Paul Cook's Chesterfield haven't caught fire as yet. As one of the play-off contenders in terms of ante-post prices, we do expect better.

The win against Salford was thanks to Lee Bonis' early goal, and he's such a key player with 17 goals last season although he picked up a head injury at the weekend and we'll have to monitor his participation.

Cook also needs the fans onside as they were critical following Saturday's loss against Rotherham, but Cook is never one to shy away from anything and I thought was right in saying he's building a team and couldn't understand the negativity.

At 1/21.50 they should be one of the bankers of the night against a Gills' side that don't exactly create a lot and already from their three matches have dipped below 1.00 on the away xG.
