Premier League Tips & Predictions
Dave Tindall: "Bruno Fernandes probably wouldn't make a great poker player. When he's not happy, his teammates and everybody watching will know all about it.
"And those frustrations have translated into six yellow cards for club and country this season, including two in United's latest three fixtures: home to Copenhagen and home to Manchester City.
"Fernandes, who was also booked 14 times last season, is unlikely to keep everything under control if it all goes wrong on Saturday so that makes the prospect of him being shown a card in a United defeat an enticing one - even more so when noting the price of 9/1."
Alex Boyes: "Since the start of last season, no player has both scored and assisted in more different Premier League games than Bryan Mbeumo (4), with the Brentford forward doing so in each of his last two appearances. The Cameroonian also has the third highest xG among Premier League players this season (6.3).
"Jarrod Bowen has scored in all five of West Ham's Premier League away games this season. He could become the first player in the competition's history to score in his side's first six away games in a single campaign, while he would also be the first West Ham player to score in six straight away appearances."
Dimitar Berbatov: "Everton got a much-needed win against West Ham last week, giving themselves some space between the bottom three.
"Brighton - well if I could play for any team right now it would be them! They aren't quite where I want them to be at the moment but I back them to beat Everton away from home."
Tipman: "Bukayo Saka has seven goal contributions in nine Premier League games this season and will be hoping to add to his tally here. Saka is priced at 8/5 here to score or assist, which is good value considering he has averaged a goal or assist every 107 minutes In the Premier League over the last two seasons.
"Saka is averaging 1.4 shots per game so far this season but also takes penalties and corners which gives us a huge boost here. He has struggled for form away from home, however, so will hope to contribute here in this huge game against a formidable Newcastle side.
"The man in officiating Saturday evening at St James Park is Stuart Attwell. Atwell has awarded an average of 5.5 cards per game so far this season in the Premier League, and also shown one red."
EFL and FA Cup Tips & Predictions
Jack Critchley: "Watford are unbeaten in their last four league games (W2 D2), and are looking to win consecutive away league matches for the first time since November 2022.
"Watford have recently put an end to their miserable away form and are unbeaten in their last two on the road. Valerien Ismael has been more relaxed in his recent media appearances and he seems to have struck upon the right balance.
"Huddersfield have conceded four times in each of their last two matches and with Darren Moore struggling to get a tune out of his side, this is far from the ideal fixture. Their xG numbers have also shown a worrying decline in recent weeks."
Ryan Deeney: "AFC Fylde are familiar opposition for Sutton. Pre-COVID, Fylde would have been favourites to win this game. Instead, Fylde endured a shock relegation, Sutton won an unlikely promotion and Fylde took three seasons to get things right and return to non-league's top tier. It hasn't been all bells and whistles, however, Adam Murray losing his job with his team bottom of the league table.
Everything that could go wrong under Murray did until confidence was lost by all parties. Director of Football Chris Beech has taken interim charge and remains unbeaten to date, securing passage into Round Three before thumping 3-0 and 4-0 victories against promotion hopefuls Oldham Athletic and Gateshead. Confidence is well and truly back and key men, including magician Nick Haughton, are thriving.
European Leagues Tips & Predictions
Dan Fitch: "In four league games at home, Atalanta are unbeaten (W3 D1) and have yet to concede a goal. In the biggest test that they have faced at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia, they held Juventus to a 0-0 draw.
"Inter are now unbeaten in six across all competitions (W5 D1), edging out Roma 1-0 last weekend. With their being a case to be made for both teams, ignore the result market and go for a low scoring game, with under 2.5 goals priced at 9/10."
Kevin Hatchard: "Dortmund managed to hold Bayern to a 2-2 draw in this fixture last season, and they haven't lost a home game in any competition since last August. That's a run of 25 competitive home games without defeat, and they have won 20 of those.
"They edged out a good Hoffenheim side 1-0 at Signal Iduna Park in the DFB Pokal in midweek, and showed admirable grit last weekend as they fought back from 2-0 and 3-2 down away to Eintracht Frankfurt.
"Julian Brandt has been excellent this season - he has delivered a goal or an assist in each of his last eight Bundesliga games - and with Donyell Malen and Niclas Füllkrug there is a mix of speed and strength in attack. Veterans Mats Hummels and Marco Reus have really stepped up this term, and this feels like a Dortmuind side ready to go toe-to-toe with Bayern."
Jamie Kemp: "This is a tricky game for Barcelona in many ways, but the context of going there straight off a defeat in El Clásico raises the stakes further.
"Even though Xavi's side were unfortunate to lose against Real Madrid, a successive game without a victory would invite pressure and likely see the gap to their competitors grow out beyond comfortability. What's more, Barcelona have only won two of their five away games in La Liga this term (D3).
"With that in mind, I'll opt for Real Sociedad with a +1 handicap 4/7 and pair it with 1+ shot on target for Mikel Oyarzabal 2/5. The club captain is currently in his best form since returning from a cruciate ligament injury in early 2022, and has scored seven goals in his last eight games for the club."
