PSG v Arsenal: Back holders to win close contest

Kevin Hatchard: I have huge respect for the job Arsenal and Mikel Arteta have done and the psychological progress they have made, but this PSG team has the comfort of knowing they can deal with the mental strain of this final.

The cloying, claustrophobic pressure that came from the French club's previous failure to win the Champions League is a thing of the past, and Luis Enrique has turned this group into a true collective.

Paris beat Arsenal home and away in the semis just over a year ago, and while the Gunners have improved since then, I'm still giving PSG the edge.

On that basis, I'll snap up the generous 3.4 on offer for PSG to win the final and Under 3.5 Goals. Arsenal aren't going to open up and go toe-to-toe with PSG here, and they are the best defensive team around, so it'll be close. It's worth noting that six of the last seven UCL finals have actually featured only one or two goals.

PSG v Arsenal: Back fouls in 12/1 Bet Builder

Stephen Tudor: Miles Lewis' Skelly's reimagining recently into a DM has seen his foul involvements spike considerably. The teenager has started four of Arsenal's last five alongside Declan Rice and has been responsible - one way or the other - for the ref blowing up 15 times. He has either fouled, or been fouled, every 22.9 minutes.

Speaking of spikes, aside from PSG's fractious final against Bayern in 2020, this fixture doesn't tend to produce many cautions. The last three finals however have seen 16 yellow cards shown, 5.3 per 90.

This brings Marquinhos into play, a player who went through the entirety of the season without getting booked until he encountered the clever movement of Harry Kane in this tournament's semi-final ties. Thereupon he was booked in each game...

Lastly, with PSG averaging 18 shots per game across 2025/26 - Arsenal by comparison have averaged 14 - it's reasonable to expect David Raya to be called into action.

PSG v Arsenal: Back the Gunners to win clash of styles

Lewis Jones: This is a brutal stylistic clash for PSG. Arsenal are stronger defensively, more dangerous from set plays and tactically equipped to suffocate the spaces PSG need to flourish.

The biggest edge for Arsenal comes from their ability to kill momentum. Few teams in Europe are better without the ball. Mikel Arteta's side defend in waves, they foul intelligently when required and they are masters at turning emotionally chaotic matches into sterile tactical battles.

No longer labelled nearly men, the Premier League champions now head into the Champions League final carrying momentum instead of pressure. They are the bet to win it.

PSG v Arsenal: Back Saka in 33/1 Bet Builder

Max Liu: "1-0 to the Arsenal" goes the song to the tune of the Pet Shop Boys' 'Go West' and the stats show why. They beat Atletico Madrid by that scoreline in their semi-final second leg and Sporting Lisbon in the first leg of their quarter-final. Arsenal also won three of their last five Premier League fixtures 1-0.

Against Atletico, Bukayo Saka got the all-important goal and he will be a key man for Arsenal here.

PSG v Arsenal: Alan Shearer's prediction

There is no doubt PSG will be the favourites, and I think that's right. With their attacking talent, them being the current holders, and their experience, when you put all that together, that's why they are the favourites.

But, and it's a big but, if there's one team that can stop PSG in the whole of Europe, it's Arsenal. You look at Arsenal's defensive stats; they're the best in Europe by a mile in everything they've done.

That makes Arsenal very dangerous. What also makes them dangerous is the relief of winning the Premier League and having that huge burden lifted off them now. They've won it, they've had their party, they've done whatever. It's never a free hit in football, but in terms of Arsenal, they're not under huge pressure to go and win this.

It would obviously be a massive achievement if they can win both the league and the Champions League, but they're not under huge pressure to win it. Other than Arsenal fans, I guess everyone's expecting PSG to win it. But, as I said, and it's a big but, if there's one team that can stop PSG because of how good they are defensively in Europe, it's Arsenal.

If Mikel Arteta were to win the Premier League and Champions League this season, he would be immortalised in the eyes of the Arsenal fan base. To win those two would be an unbelievable achievement. It would be statue time for him if he gets them over the line.

It's really tough to predict who wins this game, though. I'll go with the favourites in terms of PSG, but I wouldn't feel comfortable putting any money on it because of the way Arsenal are and how they could go into it really relaxed, knowing they've won the Premier League. That could be an advantage or a disadvantage, I guess.

But it's a really, really tough one to call. I'll just go with PSG because of the attacking talent they have and their experience and know-how when it comes to winning it.
