Premier League clubs suffered mixed fortunes on the second night of Champions League action this week.
Liverpool edged into the last 16 of the competition after winning nervously at Anfield. Chelsea's qualification hopes, however, will go down to the last game after they were pegged back in Bordeaux.
Luis Felipe Scolari's men were backed at [1.11] to win the match after opening up a lead through Nicolas Anelka. But with the final whistle looming, the Blues conceded and must now beat Cluj at home in the final set of group games to advance.
Frank Lampard added to Chelsea's misery by getting sent off late on. A red card was backed at [6.2] on the exchange before the England man's moment of madness.
Liverpool scored early on but laboured thereafter against a speedy and energetic Marseille side. Under 1.5 goals was backed at [7.8] on Betfair after Steven Gerrard's 23rd minute goal.
There were some big odds matched elsewhere as other games across Europe produced rather more drama.
Barcelona destroyed Sporting Lisbon 5-2 in Portugal to land bets at odds of [100.0] on there being seven goals or more in the match.
There was an upset in Italy where Inter Milan were defeated 1-0 at the San Siro by Panathinaikos.
Jose Mourinho's men were matched at [1.35] to win the match with their Greek opponents touching [14.0] on the exchange. The 1-0 final score was backed at [30.0].
Inter will nevertheless play in the last 16 after Anorthosis Famagusta were snagged back by Werder Bremen.
The Cypriots were matched at [1.1] when cruising at 2-0. But the Germans put on a determined comeback to pull it back to 2-2.
The draw hit [12.0] on Betfair, over 3.5 goals [36.0] and the final score [80.0].
