England fall at final hurdle

It's a battle for third place for England instead of the World Cup final following defeat to Argentina in Atlanta tonight.

The Three Lions had one foot in the final following Anthony Gordon's goal in the second half.

A series of defensive subs handed Argentina a chance and they took it with both hands, scoring in the 85th and 92nd minutes to bounce England out of the tournament.

So, defending champions Argentina will face Spain in Sunday's final with England meeting France in the game no team wants to play, Saturday evening's Third Place Playoff.
