Dan "The Betting Man" Fitch looks ahead to the Milan derby in which Inter can seal a second successive Serie A title

If you're going to win something, then it's all the sweeter to do so against someone you really hate. That's why quarrelling married couples, put quite so much effort into winning an argument.

In football, it's an even greater thrill when you taste triumph against your adversaries. You know that for weeks you'll be able to indulge in constant mockery of those enemy supporters, which you're unfortunate enough to have amongst your acquaintance. It'll almost makes knowing them worthwhile.

Even when the constant bombarding of their inbox with satirical works of Photoshopped genius has led to a block on your email address, you know that you can still make their blood boil by bringing it up months, or even years later. You want proof? If we hadn't beaten the Scum 5-1 this season, I'd still be crowing about beating them 3-1 back in 1991.

On Sunday, Inter Milan can win the Serie A title if they take three points against hated rivals AC Milan. What's more, such a result would put a rather large dent in AC's chances of claiming a Champions League spot. This could truly be a case of the gift that keeps on giving.

Of course, the Rossonieri would like nothing better than to derail Inter's title bid. Unfortunately, in order to do that, not only would they have to beat Inter, but also uncover some sort of match fixing scandal, in a spot of Scooby Doo-style amateur sleuthing. If you want to see if those pesky kids in red and black can stop Inter getting away with it, then all the action can be seen on Betfair Live Video.

If Inter are to take the title on Sunday, then they must claim all three points and hope that Roma fail to win away at Sampdoria. Even if Inter and Roma both win, such is the league leaders' goal difference that Roma would have to win one of their remaining games by about fifteen goals, if they were to stand any chance of winning the title. When you take into account the credit crunch and the financial uncertainty that the media is currently obsessed with hyping up, then the [1.03] for Inter to win the title actually seems like a good investment.

AC Milan have crept back up on fourth placed Fiorentina, who have been distracted by their commitments in the UEFA Cup. Rangers' penalty victory in the semi-final, may knock the fight out Fiorentina and Milan will be looking to capitalise. They trail by just two points and with Fiorentina away at relegation threatened Cagliari, there is still plenty of mileage in this two-way battle.

Last weekend Milan were on good form as they trounced Livorno 4-1 away from home. The highlight was a hat-trick from the thirty four year old 'Pippo' Inzaghi, bringing his recent tally to a remarkable eight goals in four games. This has lead to calls for a summer call up for Euro 2008 and whilst this might be stretching things a bit, Inzaghi's career is one worth celebrating. Inzaghi is one of a dying breed. The 'poacher', who despite not actually being very good at football when it comes to things like ball control, knows exactly where to position himself in the box to bag a goal. Just like Micky Quinn, only prettier and offside more often.

In a game where the two teams share the same ground, home and away form is somewhat erroneous. Milan's recent form has been very erratic (both home and away) winning five and losing four, from their last nine games. Inter however, are unbeaten in their last five since losing at home to Juventus. They're not playing brilliantly, but the title is in sight and they're not letting it slip.

Amazingly, Milan are the [2.56] favourites for this match, with Inter [3.4] and the draw [3.15]. This is no doubt because of Milan's supposed 'home' advantage, but whatever the cause, I'm all about Inter at that price. Not only could Inter fans have the pleasure of winning the title against their despised neighbours, but if they're smart, they could also be doubling their money.
