"It is a significant disadvantage to be drawn high at Goodwood over 1m. They only win 4.1% of the time compared to low drawn runners 12.4%."

No favourite in the last six runnings of the opening 13:00 Try Racing TV For Free Now Nursery Handicap at Redcar has won. Gnat Alley 3.02/1 is perhaps one to take on.
Favourites have a 41.6% strike rate in two-year-old Maiden Stakes races at Redcar. Vintage Choice 1.910/11 in the 14:00 British EBF Future Stayers Maiden Stakes fits the bill today for William Haggas who has had 22 winners from 55 runners at Redcar.
Jockey James Doyle is back in the saddle for trainer Roger Charlton and will look to keep up his excellent 67% strike rate at Kempton for the trainer. He rides Barn Owl 2.255/4 in the 19:15 Follow@MansionBet On Twitter Handicap.
Hollie Doyle will partner debutant Under The Twilight 34.033/1 for trainer Tom Ward in the 17:15. When the pair partner at Kempton, they are two for six with a 33% strike rate. Zero for three with debutants, however.
Trainer Charlie Appleby is looking for his fourth win in the opening 13:15 Ryan Canter Club Future Stayers' EBF Maiden Stakes at Goodwood with debutant Age Of Sail 2.206/5.
Appleby is 33% (4-12) with first time out two-year-olds at Goodwood and has scored here with four of his last six runners.
It is a significant disadvantage to be drawn high at Goodwood over 1m. They only win 4.1% of the time compared to low drawn runners 12.4%.
Oisin Murphy partners two fancied horses today over this trip that are drawn wide. Stall 11 for Imrahor 3.7511/4 in the 13:45 and stall 14 for Curtiz 3.505/2 16:02. Both will surely struggle from there and should be avoided.
Frankie Dettori is out for one ride onboard Harrovian 5.04/1 for John and Thady Gosden at Goodwood in the 14:52 Best Of British Events Foundation Stakes.
Jockey Robert Havlin will partner the yards other runner, Golden Bugle 5.04/1, at 15:27 In Memory Of Gladys And Ronald Baldwin Fillies' Handicap. Havlin boasts a 50% strike rate at Goodwood for the Gosden's.

Today's furthest traveller is trainer Roger Charlton. He makes the 266 mile journey from his base to Redcar with Out From Under 3.55/2 in the 14:00 British EBF Future Stayers Maiden Stakes. Charlton has a 28% strike rate at Redcar.
Race of the day
We head to Goodwood for their tricky looking Listed contest at 14:52, where a field of eight goes to post.
West End Charmer returns from a long absence of 460 days off the track but has won fresh previously and in good style off a handicap mark of 100 at Newmarket when off for 372 days last term.
That took his record to three from three over today's trip, and he is drawn well in stall two to implement his front running tactics.
There are plenty of question marks over many of his rivals, and he could be the one to roll the dice with.
Harrovian ties in with Migration through Sinjaari after showing a good attitude to get on top of that one at Doncaster in the three runner contest last time. Frankie Dettori dictated a steady pace, and while that was a good effort, he is unlikely to get such a soft lead this time.
Small field scenarios seem to be his forte, and the likelihood of a strong pace in this contest could expose him over this trip, given he hasn't been in a strongly run race for quite some time (15th of 22 at York last season).
He is a solid option to hit the frame, but it would be a surprise should he be good enough.
Perotto ties in with King Vega but needs to prove his stamina over this new trip, for which it's certainly not guaranteed given his pedigree.
He sets the form standard with his excellent efforts this season over 1m, and if there were a track to try this new trip out, it would be here at Goodwood, where he has gone so well before.
He has been running on late over 1m in competitive contests, but his final furlong time figures don't match the visual performances, so this may not be the right move for him.
Timeform head to Listowel and look to boss the bookies
The Timeform team head back to Ireland today, and offer up three of their best bets.
It was good to get that lay in on Brando yesterday, and I hope a few followed in. Much is always made of ratings, but they are useless if they haven't been earned under the same race conditions, and it baffles me sometimes how so many overlook this.
Opportunities don't come around like that often, but it's now worth playing against the grain when Brando reappears back over 6f - likely in the Champion Sprint at Ascot.
Betfair is the only one with a bit of savvy in this case. They cut him from 25/1 into 16/1 but elsewhere pushed him out to the best price, 40/1 from 25/1.
It's worth taking advantage of, given yesterday's five-furlong trip on fast ground at a sharp turning track like Beverley is the opposite of what he wants so it is just worth writing off.
Back up in trip on a stiff track like Ascot with cut in the ground will undoubtedly be in his favour, and that's when he will run to his rating.
Until tomorrow, be lucky.
