Top weight Great Chieftain must find improvement if he is to be competitive in this mile handicap, but could be worth keeping the faith in from a workable rating. He's currently 9lb lower than when recording his last win and has dropped 9lb from his seasonal domestic return at Newmarket in April.

Over the winter, the five-year-old gelding put in a couple of creditable efforts at Meydan, particularly when fifth of 16 runners in a handicap won by The Fingal Raven. He has shown this year that he still retains ability and could be capable of a resurgence in the hands of Tom Marquand for Oliver Cole.

Returning from a 71-day break, Raaheeb is one to note for Owen Burrows and Rossa Ryan, holding leading claims in this field. He remains unexposed in only his fourth career start and is already proven at this level having won a Sandown Group Three in dominant fashion on reappearance in the spring.

Upped into Group One and Classic company in the Irish Derby when last seen, the inexperienced performer could only manage fourth in a deep race won by Benvenuto Cellini. He was far from disgraced and remains capable of better, open to further progression.

Having gained some valuable experience to date and likely to still be on an upward trajectory, the son of Sea The Stars remains an exciting prospect for Shadwell and should prove tough to beat.

The John Patrick Ryan yard has returned to form recently and The Little Yank could do the same on the back of a seventh-placed effort at Sligo when last seen. He had finished third in his two previous outings over both hurdles and fences, including from a 2lb higher mark over timber at Kilbeggan.

The likeable and experienced veteran is on a workable mark currently under 7lb claiming John Aherne, and has proven stamina in his reserves to stay on well over this extended 2m6f trip. Holding solid each-way claims in a competitive contest, The Little Yank warrants consideration and could put in a threatening effort as he bids for a ninth career win.
