Galway, 15:43 - Back City Of Gold @ 6/42.50

Sporting first-time blinkers, City Of Gold could show enough improvement to make it third time lucky in his racing career and shedding his maiden tag under Wayne Lordan for Aidan O'Brien. 

The Wootton Bassett colt has shaped with promise in two starts to date, finishing fifth on debut at Fairyhouse to Nail House, before chasing home Trean, a subsequent third in the Group Three Acomb Stakes at York, in a 7f maiden at Ballybrit. 

Entitled to continue showing progression as he gains experience, City Of Gold could be worth keeping onside and, being out of a 1m1f Listed-winning daughter of Shamardal in Shamtee, this step up in distance could suit.

Goodwood, 15:50 - Back Fireblade @ 9/110.00

Dylan Cunha enjoyed international success over the weekend and could land a Goodwood victory with five-year-old gelding Fireblade in this two-mile contest. He's a likeable performer on his day and is currently only 2lb higher than his last winning mark with proven stamina.

The staying son of Frankel hasn't been able to make much of an impression in either of his latest two outings, although has had some excuses, but was beaten only half-a-length by Galilean Quality, who has since boosted the form, in a mile-and-three-quarter Ascot handicap in July. He proved on that occasion that he's still capable of posing a threat on his day, and this challenge could suit.

Leicester, 16:02 - Back Valentine Catcher @ 9/25.50

Tim Easterby-trained Valentine Catcher has been running well this term, putting in a number of creditable performances despite failing to add to his brace of career wins to date. He's currently rated 10lb lower than when last finishing in front, when demoted to second at Pontefract 12 months ago, and has capable 5lb claimer Jake Dickson in the plate.

From a workable mark on the back of a good third at Hamilton, the five-year-old gelding may prove worth keeping the faith in and could return to the winners' enclosure in his 25th start.

Catterick, 16:46 - Back Showtime Mahomes E/W @ 7/18.00

Showtime Mahomes needs to show improvement on his latest couple of efforts but has had some excuses for his below par performances following a 163-day break, and is dropping in class in this 7f contest under Sam James.

The Grant Tuer-trained gelding is 4lb below his last winning mark and has proven form over this distance as he steps back up in trip. He has 5 wins on Turf to his name and could make it third time lucky at this track having been beaten here twice previously.

At this level from a workable rating, Showtime Mahomes holds solid claims at the weights and should fare better than when last seen, capable of taking a step forward for his latest outings and making his presence felt in this company.

Goodwood, 17:00 - Back Old Is Gold @ 5/23.50

Andrew Balding-trained Old Is Gold is dropping significantly in class following a creditable fourth-placed effort behind Miss Yechance at odds of 14/115.00 in a competitive 19-runner handicap at the Ebor Festival when last seen. He was tried in a first-time visor that occasion and was able to show some improvement on his previous run when returning from a 97-day break over 5f here behind Naana's Shadow.

Bidding for a second career win in only his ninth start, the son of Mehmas appears on a potentially workable mark of 83 at his best. He was third to Ardisia in an 11-runner handicap at this venue during his debut campaign, having previously finished eighth in the Windsor Castle Stakes when the 7/24.50 favourite, and showed plenty of promise as a juvenile.

There could be more to come from the three-year-old gelding in handicaps as he's far from being exposed. He warrants consideration in the hands of Oisin Murphy.

Galway, 18:00 - Back Loingseoir @ 9/25.50

Experienced 10-year-old gelding Loingseoir has been running consistently well in recent months including when a good third at odds of 11/112.00 here in his latest start. He has been making the frame regularly and remains on a workable mark of 67.

The likeable veteran makes his 80th career appearance in this 7f handicap under Colin Keane, bidding for an eighth win. He has shown he still retains plenty of ability this season and, having performed with credit on multiple occasions recently, should be able to give another good account of himself.

Bangor-on-Dee, 18:12 - Back Who's Glen E/W @ 15/28.50

Five-year-old gelding Who's Glen returns from a 91-day break in first-time cheekpieces as he bids to get back on track. He couldn't make an impression on his Flat return in the Chester Plate in May, and struggled back over hurdles at Southwell in June, but had shown form earlier in the year when a good third at 25/126.00 in a competitive Musselburgh handicap.

Dropping in class back in handicap company, the unexposed contender could put in a bold bid from a mark of 105. The addition of headgear could spark improvement and, in only his seventh hurdling start, he could have enough ability to pose a threat for Donald McCain.

Galway, 18:30 - Back Galileo Dame E/W @ 14/115.00

Likeable mare Galileo Dame stayed on well over a mile-and-three-quarters when catching the eye late on in third at this track. She's dropping in distance here but has placed twice at this level over this trip in the past, and could be capable of making the frame once again.

Trained by Joseph O'Brien, the daughter of Galileo Gold finished fourth in the Chester Cup in May and has shown a high level of ability. She's a formidable contender on her day and has already achieved some black-type during her career.

Possessing the talent to outrun her odds in this contest, and likely to be staying on strongly in the finish, the five-year-old mare makes appeal under Chris Hayes and could put in a bold showing.
