Doncaster, 13:15 - Back Downonmainstreet E/W @ 9/110.00

No Nay Never filly Downonmainstreet made a successful start in handicap company when backed into a price of 9/25.50 at Ffos Las recently.

A 5lb rise may not be enough to deter her progression and she remains a promising performer for Michael Bell, capable of taking another step forward and showing further improvement.

In her fifth career start, Downonmainstreet is seeking a third successive win and shouldn't be discounted. She holds each-way claims and may be able to land a blow at this level.

Doncaster, 13:15 - Back Bymiddaytomorrow E/W @ 18/119.00

Bymiddaytomorrow wasn't seen to best effect at the York Ebor Festival when last seen finishing seventh behind Mia Fantasia, but she may be worth keeping the faith in having shown promise previously.

Bidding for a three-time going into her latest race on the Knavesmire, the Ed Walker-trained filly couldn't land the hat-trick but can be forgiven for a below par effort in a competitive 18-runner contest on that occasion. She could fare better back against her own sex and resume her good run of form.

Doncaster, 14:25 - Back Besieged @ 9/25.50

Well-bred handicap debutant Besieged could make a successful start in this sphere from an opening mark of 93 for Harry Charlton. He was a dominant 14-length winner of a Salisbury maiden when last seen, having previously finished second twice to Go Rimbaud and Heyzoom respectively, shaping with promise.

Having run consistently well in three starts to date and being out of top-class mare Snow Lantern, whose two-year-old colt Alfred Wallace claimed Solario Stakes success recently, this son of Dubawi could be capable of showing further progression. This is only his fourth career start and the best should be yet to come from the three-year-old.

Lingfield, 14:40 - Back Holi Scarlett E/W @ 10/111.00

Stuart Williams-trained Holi Scarlett is one to note each-way from a mark of 70, dropping in class and stepping back up to 6f in this contest. She is 6lb higher than her sole career win to date when successful on handicap debut at Nottingham during the summer, but has since made the frame from her current rating as well as finishing third in a higher class handicap at odds of 25/126.00 on the July Course to Havana Sprite.

A talented filly on her day, Holi Scarlett has amassed some valuable experience during her debut campaign so far this season and there could be more to come from her. She makes appeal in the hands of Jack Doughty for an in-form yard.

Doncaster, 15:35 - Back Eabha E/W @ 14/115.00

In the Group Two May Hill Stakes, Eabha could outrun her odds following an eye-catching second to Light Of Dawn, when ahead of Coaxed, in Group Three company at Goodwood last month. She finished well over the 7f trip on that occasion having failed to enjoy the most favourable trip, and could be capable of taking another step forward over this extra furlong.

The progressive daughter of Space Blues, who finished third to Aperoll on Newbury debut, is a dual winner already and has achieved black-type. There could be more to come from her and she is one to note for Eve Johnson Houghton.

Bet of the day: Doncaster, 16:45 - Back Rafe's Da Man @ 4/15.00

In the penultimate race on the opening day of the St Leger meeting at Doncaster, Rafe's Da Man gets the nod as the bet of the day with Ryan Moore taking the ride.

The handicap debutant could be well-treated from a mark of 91 having shown steady progression and plenty of promise in four starts to date. He has been pulled out twice when set to contest at Listed level recently and could have higher aspirations in future, making him one to note in this sphere.

Unexposed and inexperienced, the son of Ghaiyyath has been improving with each run this season. He has shown greenness during his races and appears to be very much a work-in-progress, but possesses raw ability and was a good winner at Goodwood when last seen, getting off the mark on that occasion at odds of 12/113.00.

Entitled to continue his progression, the Richard Hannon representative may be worth keeping onside currently and could double up by recording successive victories.

Lingfield, 16:58 - Back Majestic Wave E/W @ 7/18.00

Dropping in class from a low mark of 59, Majestic Wave could finally strike for the Simon Dow yard, winless since his final start for former trainer John O'Donoghue when based in Ireland. He had show promise earlier in his career and was able to be competitive in a higher class handicap on stable debut when rated 30lb higher.

Having dropped significantly in the weights and having shown he still retains some ability this year, the four-year-old could be worth keeping the faith in and could add to his sole career success in this 7f handicap.

Lingfield, 17:33 - Back Lake Como @ 10/34.33

George Boughey-trained Lake Como, who has two all-weather wins to his name, could improve for his return to action following a 74-day break and gelding operation at Kempton when last seen in fourth to Victory Ace. He was equipped with first-time cheekpieces on that occasion too, which remain on, and may be able to take a step forward in the hands of Billy Loughnane.

The three-year-old son of St Mark's Basilica made one appearance for former trainer Aidan O'Brien before changing hands for 16,000gns last autumn. He had previously been purchased for €130,000 as a Goffs Orby Book 1 yearling and has shown promise during his career to date, including when third to King's Trail earlier this term.

Laytown, 19:20 - Back Indigo Dream @ 3/14.00

Patrick Mullins partners Ross O'Sullivan-trained Indigo Dream in the Laytown finale on the beach this Thursday. She's a likeable filly on her day and has dropped to a mark of 77 having been rated as high as 92.

On a workable rating and well-handicapped on the back of a second-placed finish at Gowran Park if she takes to this unique test, the four-year-old daughter of Havana Grey should put in a competitive effort as she bids for a second career win and holds solid claims.
