Being drawn low at Salisbury over six furlongs is a distinct advantage, with those runners scoring 11% of the time compared to middle 7% and high 8% - likely because they can grab the running rail. Today's races over this distance are the 15:32 and the 16:07.
Today's opening 13:50 William Hill Play Responsibly British EBF Novice Stakes at Salisbury has attracted 21 entries and has split into two divisions.
The 14:22 (the second division) sees Ryan Moore partner up with Brian Meehan on Group 1 entered Hannibal Barca 7.513/2, and the pair have a 29.6% strike rate together.
The exciting Ribhi 2.01/1 comes off best at the weights in the 15:32 British EBF Radcliffe & Co Conditions Stakes. He was last seen chasing home Nobel Truth in the Flying Scotsman at Doncaster's St Leger meeting.
The three-year-old factor?
No SP favourite has scored in the 16:07 William Hill Pick Your Places Handicap at Salisbury. Three-year-olds have won the last two runnings, and the low drawn runner that fits the bill is Mr Trick 21.020/1.
In the 17:12 at Salisbury, three-year-olds have won two of the last three runnings, and there are only two in the race today. Grand Scheme 19.018/1 and Liverpool Knight 26.025/1.
Tom Marquand heads to Chelmsford today and has three rides, but Maajdah 2.255/4 for William Haggas in the 19:00 looks to be his best chance. Despite her penalty, the filly is four pounds well-in. Marquand has a 50% strike rate for owner Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum at Chelmsford.
Jockey William Buick has five rides at Chelmsford and has a 60% strike rate when riding for Richard Hughes at the course. Today they partner with Twice As Likely 5.59/2 in the 20:30.
Dettori debut's at Bellewstown in aid of the late Barney Curley

Form Watch
This section highlights a trainer, owner or jockey who is in excellent current form and their runners or rides for the day.

Trainer Milton Harris has sent out six winners from his last 13 runners. Today he saddles, It's Ur Roundmylord in the 15:20 101.0100/1 at Lingfield.
Furthest traveller
Trainer Mark Johnston is today's furthest traveller with Boondoggle 11.010/1 in the 16:30 at Lingfield. The trainer has travelled 270 miles and has just the one runner on the card.
Race of the day
We head to Salisbury for the race of the day, and our focus is the trappy 16:42 William Hill Extra Place Races Handicap. This race looks as though an upset could be on the cards, with very few looking particularly well-handicapped, including the favourite, but there is one stand-out candidate.
Majestic Dawn is the highest rated in the field and must give weight away to all bar two runners but gets the services of 7lbs claimer Mohammed Tabti.
There is a good chance that he will get a soft lead in this contest, providing King Carney doesn't revert to prominent tactics, and while he is hardly thrown in off this handicap mark of 104, the claimer certainly enhances his chances now effectively running off a handicap mark of 97.
He was pulled from the Cambridgeshire (a race he won off 3lbs lower) last week due to fast going, and today's softer surface should be right up his street.
He remains in good form, and this is a drop back in class after contesting a Group 3 contest last time out, which saw both the winner and runner-up chase home the useful Solid Stone next time.
That form is easily by far the best on offer in this contest, and it is baffling as to why he is not a clear favourite for this contest with ideal conditions, so he must be backed.
Poet Of Life heads the market likely on the basis that he is a three-year-old and from the John and Thady Gosden yard because it's certainly not his form off this mark of 96.
He is unproven on ground this soft and, although open to improvement, looks a poor favourite in this contest on the balance of his form.
King Carney looks like the best-handicapped horse in the race, but he has been out of sorts for quite some time. He will need the recent change of yard and the magic of Hollie Doyle in the saddle to see him land this contest.
That's not beyond the realms of possibility, though, and he has run well off of eight pounds plus higher marks previously.
The handicapper has given him a chance, and he could be the one to cause an upset.

Final Word
That's all from me until next Friday as I take a short break to study hard for the upcoming National Hunt season. Yes, unfortunately, it's not a lavish holiday abroad but a re-watch of the entire National Hunt season from 2020, which to most will sound like a nightmare but to me it's sheer bliss.
Be sure to check out all the excellent content on Betting.Betfair this weekend with plenty of columns and tips for the big one in France.
Until next week, be lucky.
