Alan Dudman pens the latest Daily Racing News column for Monday at Catterick, Kempton and Wolverhampton
Monday's three meetings are dominated by the return of the All-Weather with nine-race cards at both Kempton and Wolverhampton. The former stages a Fast-Track Qualifier at 17:15, and five runners are in that feature. There is also a 0-95 Fillies' Handicap at Wolverhampton this evening.
The jumping from Catterick will likely be on good to soft ground, and two races of the seven-race card have 10 and 12 runners.

The Betfair Sportsbook is paying extra places today!
The Extra Place Special races on the Sportsbook to kick-off the week all come from the All-Weather today with six in total split across Kempton and Wolverhampton. The All-Weather is very much back this afternoon.
Twelve runners for the 14:15 1m4f Handicap start the ball rolling with four places and Sean Curran's Ruby Red Empress was the most solid from 9/2 into 10/3 to head the market early on Monday morning. He flopped in heavy ground last time and takes a drop in grade, and Kevin Frost's Bristol Hill attracted interested from 16/1 into 12/1.
The second Extra Place Special from Kempton is the last with the 17:45 2m Handicap and the old warhorse Tralee Hills tries blinkers for the first time, and he hasn't won for an age. Prince Abu goes well at the track. James Fanshawe's Wannabe Brace is the unexposed one after finishing third last time out over CD and unsurprisingly heads the betting at 11/4.
Four Extra Place Specials at Wolverhampton. a card that is heavy on the handicap front again. The 16:55 1m1f Handicap with 13 runners and the two at the top of the betting have five CD victories between them. Richard R H B 3.02/1 and Hooflepuff 4.57/2 lead the way and both are ideally berthed in one and two. The second division is also an Extra Place Special in the following 17:25.
Stayers to the fore again, this time for Wolverhampton and the 17:55 1m6f Handicap with 13 runners. Frame Rate 13.012/1 looks a touch overpriced after bombing out last time, but ignoring that, the horse has a good record at the track.
A very open finale in the 20:25 7f Handicap is the final Extra Place Special via the Sportsbook. The 16/1 on Craig Lidster's Divine Connection was snapped up initially and is the each-way mover into 10/1 for the closing race of the night.
Stat Of The Day
Jockey Sean Quinlan has a perfect record this term at Catterick with 3-3 at 100% and a level stakes profit of +14.00. His sole mount on the card is in the opening 13:00 2m Novices' Handicap Chase with recent Market Rasen winner Snowy Clouds by 6L on her chasing debut.

Furthest traveller
Lilith for Anthony Honeyball is the longest traveller for Monday and lines up in the 14:30 3m1f Mares' Novices' Handicap Chase and she is on the march to the tune of 313 miles and Ucanaver is the same race from the same Dorset yard.
Lilith is top weight from 120 and runs for the second time since the wind surgery and does boast winning handicap form from Punchestown last spring.
Form Watch

Conor Rabbitt appears again on the hot jockeys' list with a recent 46% strike-rate with six winners from 11 in the last month and a profit of +5.68 and has won on three of his last six rides. He has two booked for Monday at Catterick with Curious Times 17.016/1 an outsider in the 14:00 2m3f Handicap Hurdle and Western Run 8.515/2 in the 15:00 3m1f Handicap Hurdle.
From a small sample size, trainer Tjade Collier has a recent 40% strike-rate with two from his last five and Blue Hawaii is the yard's only runner on the Catterick card in the 13:00 2m Novices' Handicap Chase and she makes her chasing debut for her first run of the season. She is also a previous course winner.
Don McCain ticks over at a 15% strike-rate at Catterick over the last five seasons with a profit of +22.25, and the Malpas Maestro has two runners in Yorkshire with odds-on Royal Mogul at 8/15 in the 13:30 2m3f Maiden Hurdle . He also has newcomer Sleeping Satellite in the 15:30 Bumper. The double on the Sportsbook with those two pays out 4.98.
Neil Mullholland doesn't send too many to Catterick, but he has a good record with 3-12 at 25% and a profit of +13.70 from five seasons. He has two runners on the card with Miss Jeanne Moon his strongest chance in the 14:30 3m1f Mares' Novices' Handicap Chase.
With 18 races across the two All-Weather meetings today, there's a swathe of of handicap races and the jockeys back from their winner break will be refreshed.
Christian Howarth is 2-9 in the last month but shows a massive profit +25.00. His last ride was a winner, and his only mount on the card is a big price in the 14:15 1m4f Handicap with Camerata 29.028/1. This is also an Extra Place Special on the Sportsbook.
Trainer James Tate is on the hot-list too with 4-11 at 36%. He has one horse on the Kempton card with Galaxy Gazer 7.06/1 in the 15:45 6f Novice Stakes. Tate is using Rossa Ryan today and the pair of a superb record together at Kempton with a 2-5 40% win record and a 60% placed rate.

Ryan will be making a good push for the AW Jockeys' Title.
Daniel Muscutt may be the leading rider at Kempton this season, but his profit is way down at -38.24. Richard Kingscote has one of the best profits at Kempton in 2022 with +20.27. His best chance is Pablo Prince.
Another mammoth nine-race card for Wolverhampton, and the two hot jockeys are Andrew Mullen (5-15) and James Sullivan (4-14) over the last month. Trainer Harriet Bethell is 2-7 in the last four weeks at 27% and out of her two runners on the evening card, hat-trick seeking Hoolfepuff should go close in the 16:55 1m2f Handicap.
John and Thady Gosden have a runner in the feature 19:25 6f Fillies' Handicap with Shining Al Danah, and she is fairly speedy and can make the running. PJ McDonald is booked, and when he rides for the Newmarket team, he has a 31% strike-rate for the yard.
Race of the day

The 0-95 Wolverhampton 6f Fillies' Handicap at 19:25 has the quality tonight, and the John Gosden Shining Al Danah has been a little weak this morning from 6/4 to 13/8. She was impressive on her second start in April - winning at Yarmouth by 4L. She clocked 10.66 and 10.72 in the closing stages coming from off a slow pace.
She came off a break of 164 days to win at Newcastle in October, but once again the pace was slow and form-wise perhaps not the strongest. The 3yo made all again, and goes handicapping from 83. She potentially has been kept back for these All-Weather races and Gosden at Wolverhampton has a 31% strike-rate.
Three course and distance winners are waiting in opposition with Belle Fourche 11.010/1, Dora Penny 4.57/2 and Cherish 5.04/1.
Belle Fourche was backed from 14s this morning and beat Cherish over CD in October. She has the cheekpieces on for the first time tonight and Luke Morris is a rare booking for the David O'Meara team, who have a 1-6 together on the AW. She is unexposed, and needs to bounce back after disappointing at Newcastle last time.
David Evans' Dora Penny has a lot of turf experience and could be set for a busy winter campaign. She was a big improver over 2022, as she started out running from 68 in the spring and ended up rated 86 with her final turf start at Newbury in October.
She travelled well on that occasion in 0-90 company and hit 2.021/1 in-running from a big price of 18.017/1. She also ran a cracker at Goodwood in October finishing second in the same class. The 5yo Cherish hasn't really been progressing and has been stuck on a mark in the 70s, and not sure she has the quality to win this.
Big race verdict
The favourite's form is a bit muddling, especially from Newcastle, and she hasn't got the best draw either in seven if she is to repeat her front-running tactics.
Dora Penny is solid, proven in the grade and travels well. I'd rather back her at 7/2 and she has won at the track before - she sat handy in that winning her novice and she can take full use of the better draw in two.

Final Word
Two big markers were laid down on Saturday with L'Homme Presse and Constitution Hill at Newcastle and it was a fine effort from the Presse considering the weight, but over in Ireland Grangeclare West couldn't have been more emphatic in winning at Navan on Sunday, and Cheveley Park look as though they have another top-notcher.
But what about American Mike? The wheels are coming off in spectacular fashion, and his finishing effort in the Monksfield was very tame. I was with him for the Champion Bumper last term, and considering he was 2/7 yesterday, Christmas will be a crucial time for him. Even his loyal followers like me will struggle to keep the faith if he fails to fire again.
One performance that should be noted away from Cheltenham was Lifetime Ambition - who finished second in the Troytown. He had a good spin under an inexperienced rider on ground that might turn out to be too soft. He's already had a sighter over the Liverpool fences with his Grand Sefton fourth, and the good ground come April could be right up his street.
What a weekend!
I am back tomorrow, and good luck with the punting today. You can follow me on Twitter @DudmanAl.
