The Betfair Sportsbook is paying extra places today!
A very busy Tuesday with meetings across the UK and Ireland and six Extra Place Special races on the Sportsbook.
Newcastle's 14:15 2m Handicap Chase has 13 runners so we have the four places option.
Chemical Warfare heads the betting at 4/1, and the only market positive this morning from the double-figure priced runners was Rockonsoph from 12/1 into 9/1 for Rose Dobbin. She starts over the fences for the first time to embark on her chase career, and could improve for the larger obstacles.
The following Newcastle 14:50 2m4f Handicap Hurdle has 12 runners but a livelier market.
Dot Cotton is one for the Eastenders fans out there (are there many left?) and the horse was a mover from 16/1 into 11/1 and I rate the jockey William Shanahan who is excellent in a finish.
Emily Wade is a contender too for Sam England, as she won quite easily at Southwell in March.
One from Chepstow today is the highlight, and the 14:40 5f Handicap with 14 runners is a typical low-grade sprint for the track.
If you are backing each-way with the extra place, remember you can play two in the same race to place for a multiple.
Peachey Carnehan is off a good mark and has been backed today from 16/1 into 12/1 (one for the King And I fans), but Fossos looks a good option as three-time CD winner.
Trainer Tony Carroll won the race last year with a 16/1 winner, although his Toplight was a big drifter this morning from 14/1 out to 25/1.
Two Extra Place Specials come from Wetherby with the 18:30 7f Handicap with 14 runners, and the following 19:00 Wetherby 1m2f Handicap with 15 runners.
Hezmie for trainer Chris Fairhurst was a big mover from 18s into 12/1 this morning for the 19:00 and with Michael Dods coming back into a bit of form, his Arch Moon 16/1 could be an option for the each-way angle in the big field.
One Extra Place Special at Killarney is the 19:05 1m Handicap and 15 runners.
Skontonovski, and old personal favourite of mine is on his 56th career start this evening, and the market likes the veteran - and he was backed from 20/1 into 12/1 for the handicap master Ado McGuinness.
Stat Of The Day
Jockey Kevin Stott will be eager to translate his AW form to Sandown tonight, and his profit margin is a good one - showing +20.87 on the last month.
Stott will be busy at York tomorrow and has just one ride at Sandown tonight with newcomer Graceful Thunder (3/1 into 5/2) in the Amo Racing colours in the Sandown 17:40 5f Novice.
The 2yo filly cost 90,000 as a breeze-up and trainer George Boughey is looking for his second juvenile winner of the turf season.
Horses for courses
This section highlights horses that have won twice or more at today's tracks and could be in with a chance today.
13:30 Chepstow: Sir Plato 8/1 has won here five times (38%).
14:40 Chepstow: Peachey Carnehan 14/1 has won here twice (18%), Fossos 8/1 has won here three times (30%), Rhubarb 6/1 has won here four times (27%), and Connie's Rose 6/1 has won here (25%).
15:15 Chepstow: Macs Dilemma 9/2 has won here three times (60%).
16:10 Beverley: Ugo Gregory 6/1 has won here three times (43%).
16:45 Beverley: Leading Company 20/1 has won here twice (67%).
20:20 Sandown: New Heights 9/2 has won here twice (50%).
Weighted to go well
"Weighted to go well" highlights horses running that are more than 10lbs below their last winning handicap mark.
14:15 Newcastle: Da Vinci Hand 14/1 has won off a mark of 106 and today runs from 94.
15:25 Newcastle: Tonto's Spirit 16/1 has won off a mark of 124 and today runs from 110, and Joke Dancer 8/1 has won off a mark of 123 and today runs from 107.
15:35 Beverley: Ramiro 8/1 has won off a mark of 78 and today runs from 66.
16:10 Beverley: Ugo Gregory 6/1 has won off a mark of 80 and today runs from 66.
20:40 Wetherby: Makalu 5/1 has won off a mark of 73 and today runs from 57.
Furthest traveller
It's a big ask for today's furthest traveller, who is Captain Winters - a 22/1 shot in the feature 18:45 Sandown 1m Listed Heron Stakes. His journey is 240 miles from Yorkshire and runs for Kevin Ryan, and the 3yo was well beaten on his seasonal reappearance at Musselburgh last time.
Form Watch

Chris Mason appears on the hotlist with the trainer set for Chepstow. His 2-9 record of late shows a profit of +8.50 and has two runners on the card today inlcuding On Edge, who is solid from 9/2 into 4s for the 14:40 5f Handicap.
Pessimistic trainer Henry Candy has a decent placed strike-rate at Chepstow with 32%, and he has two runners today at the Welsh venue with San Francisco Bay (5/1 out to 7/1) in the 13:30 1m Handicap and the bigger priced Cloud Cuckoo 11/1 in the 14:40 5f Handicap.
Trainers Mick Appleby and John Mackie are both on the cold list. Appleby is without a winner in 66, and Mackie 41 without success.
Mick Easterby (and David), the ice cream loving veteran is holding a rather impressive strike-rate at Beverley this term - with 4-9 at 44% and a profit of +20.00 thus far.
They have three good chances of a winner on the Westwood today with:
14:25 Beverley: Sheriff's Call (8/1 into 6/1).
16:10 Beverley: Jazz Samba (4/1 into 7/2).
16:45 Beverley: Roll It In Glitter (13/2 out to 7/1).
The each-way treble on those pays 251/1 on the Sportsbook.
Richard Fahey is 3-10 at the track this term at 30%, and is 38-307 with a five-year record at Beverley.
Bombay Bazaar Evens in the 14:25, is Fahey's best chance of a winner this afternoon and shaped very well on debut in deep ground at Thirsk recently.
The Gosdens have a rare runner at Beverley today and have a massive 66% placed strike-rate from their 15 runners since 2003.
The great man has bigger fish to fry, and dice to roll at Sandown this evening, but his Serengeti Sunset runs in the 16:45 1m2f Handicap for a handicap debut off a low mark of 73.
Trainer Alice Haynes is flying with her juveniles this term, and is 6-10 with her juvenile runners on the turf already this season.
Haynes has 2yo filly Profitable Dreams (3/1 out to 4/1) running at Chepstow today in the 14:05 Chepstow 5f Maiden and has excellent apprentice Christian Howarth claiming 5lb.
Haynes has only had three runners at Chepstow with one placed.
Race of the day

Sandown's Listed 1m Heron Stakes at 18:45 is the best quality on show for the day, but it's a rather thin turnout with just four runners.
John Gosden has been cleaning up in this race; winning three of the last four editions and first won the race in 2010 with Fallen Idol. Mostahdaf was his most recent success, and his chance tonight is Slipofthepen at 1/2, so you don't need me to tell you what sort of chance he has.
The promising King's colt is 2-2 so far with both wins at Kempton, but more importantly a 20/1 shot for the Derby.
In truth, he's probably scared a few rivals away, but with the Derby market for Epsom looking a bit uneasy (and I wasn't impressed with Military Order's win at Lingfield on Saturday), he could well poke his head out of the bag and show a few whiskers in terms of his ante-post price if he produces a quality performance.
Finn's Charm really impressed me at Musselburgh last time, albeit in handicap company. Winning off 92, he dispatched Gincident with ease by nearly 5L and the form has been boosted with Gincident winning since.
I'd play him as a back-to-lay in this as he has drifted from 7/4 out to 5/2 this morning, and I am sure he'll lead as the other two runners have little chance.
Big Race Verdict
A big race, but not a big price nor field but in a week where we could see a Dante winner make strong claims for the Derby, Gosden has opted for the soft option (the six-sided dice rather than the 10) to take on a field that he should beat.
Finn's Charm is improving, and with Sandown very much a front-runner track, a back of 5/2 and lay off at around 6/4 is the only angle in for me.

Timeform preview Beverley for Tuesday

Timeform's Adam Houghton previews the Beverley card on Tuesday, and a typically tough one at that. Adam has earmarked a NAP selection who he says: "That form sets a good standard in this line-up and Richard Fahey's colt seems sure to improve with the run under his belt."

Final Word
A huge week ahead with York's Dante meeting, and a thread on Twitter recently asked racing folk which sponsor still resonates with a particular race. The Hennessy is always popular, and I just about remember the Ever Ready Derby (fine batteries).
However, my Dad still refers to the Dante as the "Mecca Dante", so he's about 40 years behind. But it's a great week to look forward to, and it always is at York. And for once, we could have ground not watered, there's a thing.
It certainly wasn't watered in the Mecca Dante days.
Daryl is back on duty tomorrow, so best of luck with your bets today and the rest of the week - in particular York. You can follow me on Twitter @DudmanAl.
