Ronald Koeman back in more optimistic times at Barcelona.

Dan Fitch is on hand with the weekend La Liga tips and he's backing Atletico Madrid to make life even more miserable for Barcelona.

"There is a lot of speculation that Ronald Koeman will be sacked, with the main question being if Barcelona can actually afford to do so, rather than the Dutchman’s ability to turn things around.

Back Atletico Madrid to beat Barcelona at 1.981/1

Barcelona suffered another humiliating result in midweek and now Atletico Madrid will be looking to inflict more pain upon them on Saturday.

Benfica beat Barcelona 3-0 in the Champions League during midweek. It was the second time that Barca have lost by such a scoreline in that competition this season and they now have a very difficult task to get out of the group.

The loss means that Barcelona have now only won one of their last five games (D2 L2). There is a lot of speculation that Ronald Koeman will be sacked, with the main question being if Barcelona can actually afford to do so, rather than the Dutchman's ability to turn things around.

Atletico Madrid bounced back from their 1-0 defeat at Alaves last weekend, with a 2-1 win at AC Milan on Tuesday, though they did need two goals in the closing minutes against ten-men to secure victory. Though Atletico are not in the best form themselves, they look a big price at 1.981/1 to win against a Barcelona side in this state.

Narrow win for La Liga leaders

Real Madrid also suffered a humiliating defeat in the Champions League this week and it came as a much bigger shock than Barcelona's defeat.

While Barcelona's result always looked like an accident waiting to happen, Real Madrid went into their midweek fixture, unbeaten in their first eight games of the season (W6 D2). Nevertheless they were defeated 2-1 at home by Sheriff, who are the first team from Moldova to have ever competed in the group stage of the Champions League.

This defeat followed on from a 0-0 draw at home to Villarreal in La Liga last weekend, so there is a pressure on the table leaders to get back to winning ways at Espanyol, with three sides within three points of Real. They are expected to do just that, with Espanyol having not made a great start to the season, only earning six points from seven games so far (W1 D3 L3).

We have to assume that Real Madrid's quality will tell, but with their goals having dried up in the last week and with Espanyol having only conceded once at home in three games, any victory could be narrow. A Real Madrid win and under 3.5 goals is 2.56/4.

Sevilla will continue unbeaten run

Granada 5.24/1 v Sevilla 1.824/5; The Draw 3.55/2

One of the teams that are within touching distance of Real Madrid are third placed Sevilla, who travel to Granada on Sunday evening.

Sevilla are three points behind the leaders and have a game in hand on them and every other side in the top five. With Barcelona in crisis and neither Madrid club having yet found consistency, there is an opportunity for Sevilla to at the least improve upon the position of fourth, in which they've finished over the past two seasons.

Julen Lopetegui's team drew 1-1 at Wolfsburg in the Champions League on Wednesday. That means they are unbeaten after eight games in all competitions (W3 D5). Obviously they are drawing more games than Lopetegui would like, but they will be confident of adding another victory to their tally, against a Granada side that have yet to win this season (P7 W0 D3 L4).

Sevilla's games have tended to be tight this season, yet with 18th placed Granada having conceded the joint most goals in La Liga this season, it's best not to complicate things. Simply back Sevilla to win at 1.824/5.
