Villa have been patchy at best following their European knock-out commitments this season. As tempting as it is therefore to believe they will simply pick up where they left off on Thursday evening - being brilliant and energized against Forest - recent evidence suggests otherwise.
That's not to say that chances won't be created at Turf Moor. After all, Burnley have faced a shot on their goal every 4.8 minutes in 2026. All season long they have been breached every 44.9 minutes.
It's just that from a result perspective under 2.5 goals at 21/202.05 may be the way to go.
Still, the usual suspects for the visitors should be fancied for shots, which brings Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers into play, as well as Emi Buendia and John McGinn. The latter pair took on eight attempts combined vs Forest and McGinn to have 3 or more shots at 8/52.60 jumps out as value.
Let's flip that though and back Martin Dubravka in nets. No keeper in the top-flight has made more saves this term (127) and last time out at home he pulled off eight against Manchester City.
Back Burnley keeper to make 4 or more saves
No player who had made fewer than 30 Premier League appearances this season has taken on more first-half shots than Jean-Philippe Mateta and the striker was at it again on Thursday, this time in Europe.
Before the break, the 28-year-old had a low drive saved, then hit the post soon after.
All told, in the league alone, Mateta has taken on 1.5 shots per first-half and is 6/52.20 to fire two or more this Sunday.
The forward also tempts at 7/52.40 in the score or assist market, especially as he converted in this exact fixture last season, while Everton's Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is another up for consideration at 17/102.70. The midfielder boasts five goal involvements in his last eight outings.
Elsewhere, James Garner grabs the attention for his increased physicality beyond Merseyside. The England star has racked up 3+ foul involvements on five occasions in 2026. All five were away from home.
Back Garner to have 4 or more foul involvements
Forest were flying going into their Europa League semi against Villa on Thursday. Either side of winning the first leg they comprehensively bested Sunderland Chelsea away. A seven-game unbeaten run in the league had seen them pull clear of the relegation dogfight.
They were in tip-top shape.
Now? After succumbing to a thumping 4-0 loss that damned them a distant second best throughout it feels like their season has ended prematurely.
Newcastle to prevail at 31/202.55 therefore is a sensible shout, particularly as the hosts have several key absences.
As for individuals, William Osula's purple patch right now is hard to ignore, the Dane registering five shots on target in his last four showings, impressively scoring from three of them.
Since the start of April, the 22-year-old has converted every 81 minutes.
Back Osula to have 2+ shots on target
The Gunners have fired 144 more shots than their opponents this term yet it's the Hammers who have an individual in the top ten for attempts registered. That would be Jarrod Bowen whose 2.12 per 90 average betters every one of Mikel Arteta's men. Only Bukayo Saka gets marginally close.
The England star has posted multiple efforts in 12 of his last 18 starts and it's worth noting that Arsenal have faced 13 shots per 90 across their last five outings, compared to nine shots per 90 in their five games prior.
As for shots on target we stay with the hosts because that's where the value lies. Taty Castellanos has been Mr Consistent in this regard, registering at least one SOT in each of his last five starts. His overall average of one SOT per 90 since joining the Hammers is testament to his reliability.
Completing a West Ham angle to our bet builder we have Crysencio Summerville whose ten foul involvements against Everton a fortnight back is the most accrued in 2025/26 by any player on the pitch this Sunday. The winger had six when these sides met back in October.
Back Bowen to have 2+ shots, Castellanos to have 1+ SOT, and Summerville to have 4 or more foul involvements
