Mike Norman brings us an update on some of the Premier League's significant betting markets after Aston Villa's statement week and another terrible afternoon for Erik ten Hag...

  • Villa 16/117.00 for title after statement wins

  • Ten Hag 2/13.00 to be sacked next after Cherries defeat

  • Blades remain 1/141.07 for drop despite victory

Aston Villa are 16/117.00 in the Premier League Winner market after back-to-back 1-0 wins over Manchester City and Arsenal.

Unai Emery's men followed up Wednesday night's impressive 1-0 victory over City with a more workmanlike win over the Gunners on Saturday evening.

Villa are a similar price to back on the Betfair Exchange having been matched at the ceiling price of 1000.0 after their opening-day 5-1 defeat to Newcastle.

The win over Arsenal was Villa's 15th consecutive league win on home soil, and they're now just two points behind leaders Liverpool and one behind the Gunners.

Reds in comeback win over Palace

Liverpool came from a goal behind to beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park after a controversial Jordan Ayew sending off swung the game in their favour.

Goals from Mo Salah - hist 200th goal for the Reds - and substitute Harvey Elliott stole the points for Jurgen Klopp's men with the win taking them top of the table, one point ahead of Arsenal.

The Reds are 5/23.50 second favourites to win the title, behind Man City at 1/12.00 and ahead of the Gunners at 7/24.50.

To Win the Premier League:

- Manchester City 1/12.00
- Liverpool 5/23.50
- Arsenal 7/24.50
- Aston Villa 16/117.00
- BAR 80/181.00

Ten Hag 2/1 to be sacked next after horror show

Erik ten Hag is 2/13.00 second favourite in the Next Premier League Manager to Leave market after Manchester United's damaging 0-3 home defeat to Bournemouth.

The former Ajax boss had appeared to have turned the corner slightly after winning the Premier League Manager of the Month award for November, and was available to back at 10/111.00 to be sacked next before Saturday's defeat.

But with Nottingham Forest avoiding defeat at Wolves - a result that is likely to keep Steve Cooper in a job a bit longer - and United's humiliating defeat to the Cherries, the money came in for Ten Hag to be the next manager to leave.

Cooper remains the 4/51.80 favourite in the market, while the defeat for United saw them drift to 200/1201.00 to win the title and 6/17.00 to record a Top 4 Finish.

Promoted clubs remain favs to be relegated

Sheffield United remain massive favourites at 1/141.07 to be relegated despite recording just their second win of the season - and the first since Chris Wilder returned to the club - with a 1-0 victory over Brentford.

The Blades remain rock bottom of the table but are now level on points with Burnley - who managed a 1-1 draw at Brighton - in 19th, one behind Luton in 18th, and two points behind Everton in 17th.

With just two points separating the bottom four, and then a four-point gap to Nottm Forest in 16th, it could be perceived that the fight to avoid the drop is already down to just four clubs, but it's worth a reminder that the Toffees would be in the top half of the table but for their 10-point deduction.

To be Relegated:

- Sheffield United 1/141.07
- Luton 1/71.14
- Burnley 4/91.44
- Nottm Forest 3/14.00
- Everton 10/34.33
- BAR 7/18.00
