Forest need to pick themselves up
Being a Nottingham Forest fan has been far from easy this season due to the constant upheaval but the biggest hammer blow was delivered on Thursday night when they were crushed 4-0 by Aston Villa in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final.
Trying to protect a 1-0 lead from the first leg, Forest had high hopes going into the game after a brilliant run of form in the Premier League which had seen them win back-to-back away games by an aggregate of 8-1: 5-0 at Sunderland and 3-1 at Chelsea.
But it was a game too far and Vitor Pereira had no hesitation in finding the reason. Speaking on Friday the Portuguese said: "[Ola] Aina out, [Dan] Ndoye out, [Ibrahim] Sangare out, Callum [Hudson-Odoi] out, Murillo out, Morgan [Gibbs-White] out.
"It's too much, too much. I don't know if some of them can recover for the next match."
Howe looking for fast finish
Newcastle appear to be going nowhere in 13th but Eddie Howe has crunched the numbers and believes the Magpies could still nick a European place.
At least they have some momentum again after ending a horrid run of four straight Premier League defeats - including a 1-0 loss to neighbours Sunderland - with a 3-1 home win over Brighton last time.
With a home game against West Ham and a trip to Fulham to come, the Magpies could still finish the campaign with a flourish. At the very least, they'll be hoping to edge above Sunderland, who currently lead them by two points with three games to play.
Newcastle slight favourites
The betting is tight for the City Ground clash.
Newcastle are the slight 6/42.50 favourites while Forest are 17/102.70 and The Draw 13/53.60.
There's no doubt who has the better head-to-head record. Newcastle have lost just one of their 15 Premier League games against Forest, winning nine of those.
They've won each of their last four on Forest turf.
It seems the planets have aligned for Newcastle's streak to continue. Forest have taken a big punch to the gut with that Europa League thumping at Villa Park and they've been hit by injuries.
Vitor Pereira seems genuinely exasperated by the number of key players missing and I expect his mood to darken further here.
Despite a generally disappointing record on the road this season, Newcastle have actually won four of their last eight away games in all competitions. Back them here at 6/42.50.
Osula best Bet Builder play
Will Osula hit the headlines with his brilliant last-gasp winner against Manchester United in March and now he's really started to find his scoring boots.
The Magpies forward has started the last four Premier League games and scored in three of them - away at Crystal Palace and at home against Bournemouth and Brighton. The only team to keep him out were Arsenal.
After struggling to find a striker all season, Osula has provided a fix and on his current form the 22-year-old Dane is worth following. Head to the Bet Builder and back him to score in a Newcastle win which pays around 10/34.33.
The OddsBoost of William Osula & Igor Jesus to have 1 or more shots on target each at 11/82.38 is also worth a look.
Forest striker Jesus has had six shots on target in his last five Premier League games.
