Football Bet of the Day: Tigers to roar in China

Guangzho 5.14/1 v Dalian Yigan 1.748/11, the Draw 4.216/5
12:30

Tobias Gourlay says: "We're headed to China for Guangzhou's Super League clash with Dalian Yifang. The visitors are odds-on favourites, but we reckon the hosts could get something out of this one too.

"Guangzhou are a disappointing W3-D0-L6 through the last nine rounds of the league. However, the Tigers strengthen to W3-D0-L2 against teams in the wrong half of the table. Last time out they thrashed 13th-placed Shenzhen 4-1. Since 2018 they have won this particular fixture 3/3 times by a combined 8-1.

"Fourteenth-placed Dalian are W2-D5-L5 this term. With only two wins from 12 on their record, we'll go against them and back the hosts in the Double Chance market."

Tobias's Bet: Back Home or Draw Double Chance in Guangzhou FC v Dalian Yifang @ 2.3211/8

Tranmere v Newcastle: Magpies will steal victory

Tranmere 15.014/1 v Newcastle 1.251/4, the Draw 6.25/1

Dan Fitch says: "The third unbeaten Premier League club to be involved in EFL Cup action on Wednesday night are Newcastle, who travel to League Two's Tranmere.

"Newcastle were involved in a thrilling 3-3 draw with Manchester City on Sunday and while they will have been disappointed to have let a two goal lead slip, the fact that they were so positive against the champions says much for the progress under Eddie Howe.

"An expected summer spending spree has not materialised, but Howe still has plenty of experienced faces needing a game. Tranmere are 17th in League Two and lost 2-1 at Newport over the weekend."

Dan's bet: Back Newcastle HT, Newcastle FT and goals in both halves @ 2.915/8

Forest Green v Brighton: No drama for Seagulls

Forest Green 10.09/1 v Brighton 1.392/5, the Draw 5.39/2
19:45

Dan Fitch says: "The Seagulls have made an impressive start to their campaign, and they can continue that by avoiding an upset at Forest Green Rovers.

"The hosts were promoted to League One as champions last season, but they have found life tougher in the third tier, and they have taken just four points from a possible 12.

"Graham Potter will undoubtedly make changes to his team, but he has some promising players in his squad, and they should be able to get the job done."

Paul's bet: Back Brighton, and Over 2.5 Goals in Leeds v Barnsley & Tranmere v Newcastle @ an Odds Boost of 3.55/2

PSV v Rangers: Gers will secure their Champions League spot

PSV 1.824/5 v Rangers 4.57/2, the Draw 4.216/5

Frank Monkhouse says: "PSV seem to hold all the aces here, but there's still work to be done. The locals are potentially 90 minutes away from playing Champions League football, and Betfair Exchange punters expect them to go through.

"Rangers deserved a win last week and were robbed of victory by a shocking showing from calamity Collum on Saturday, which should be investigated further. Add to that Eredivise officials gave PSV the week off to prepare while the SPFL lacked the same ambition, and it shows Scottish football in a bad light.

"The light blues have a great chance to silence their critics and bounce back in style. Rangers to qualify is 3.35, and that's the bet for us. We will need our fair share of good fortune here, but this is a talented Gers side out to prove themselves.

"Rangers have played six times this month, scoring 13 goals and conceding six. They have conceded two goals in half of those matches. PSV leaked eight goals in their six, conceding two in three of those matches while scoring 15."

Frank's bet: Rangers to qualify @ 3.3512/5

Trabzonspor v Copenhagen: Viktor the value in Copenhagen clash

Trabzonspor 2.26/5 v Copenhagen 3.55/2, the Draw 3.7511/4

Paul Higham says: "It's a big game for both these sides as FC Copenhagen take a 2-1 lead to Turkey to face Trabzonspor for a place in the Champions League group stages.

"Trabzonspor won the league for the first time in 38 years last season, and are desperate to turn that into a first appearance in the group stages of Europe's top competition for a decade.

"Copenhagen hold the advantage though despite having just 38% possession in the first leg - but that could help them as they'll have no problem sitting off again as the away team here."
