EFL Cup Final Chelsea v Liverpool Tips: Back the boosted 11/1 booking double

Wembley Stadium
Tipman has picked an 11/1 Wembley booking double

The first silverware of the season is up for grabs on Sunday so Tipman has selected a booking double for Chelsea v Liverpool in the EFL Cup final and it has been boosted to 11/1...

  • EFL Cup final booking double boosted to 11/112.00

  • 3 cards in 5 games for Blues midfielder

  • Reds man to get physical at Wembley

Leg 1 - Moises Caicedo to be booked

Chelsea central midfielder Moises Caicedo has featured in 31 games for in all competitions since signing from Brighton for a huge fee in the summer, and looks a certainty to start here in the League Cup final.

Caicedo has received eight cards in all competitions this season with three of those coming in his last five games. He was very fortunate to not be sent off in Chelsea's 1-1 draw at the Etihad last week in the Premier League. Caicedo is averaging just under two fouls committed per game this season and is fouled 1.6 times, whilst competing in 12 duels per game, showing he is always in the thick of the action.

Chelsea are likely to go for long periods of this game without the ball and Caicedo's defensive duties will be called on many times to prevent fast and direct Liverpool counter-attacks.

Caicedo could be up against an inform Mac Allister who is equally as physical. Caicedo was shown the yellow card when the sides met at Anfield in January

Leg 2 - Alexis Mac Allister to be booked

World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister has been instrumental in Liverpool's title charge and in excellent form since returning from injury this year. Mac Allister has had to step up for Liverpool who continue to struggle with injuries and a lack of squad depth.

Mac Allister has received six yellow cards and one red card in the Premier League in 21 games, which puts him in the 85th percentile in the league for cards per minute played. Mac Allister has very similar foul stats to Caicedo, averaging 1.87 committed and 1.65 received per game, putting them both in the 90th percentile for total fouls per game in the Premier League this season.

They'll likely be up against each other and an accumulation of fouls could easily see both players carded in this huge League Cup final at Wembley, as both will be desperate to lift their first silverware for their clubs. Mac Allister was shown the yellow card when the sides met at Stamford Bridge in August.

The match official - Chris Kavanagh

The man in the middle of Sunday's League Cup Final is Chris Kavanagh.

Kavanagh has awarded an average of 4.5 cards per game in the league and four per game in the League Cup this season, whilst awarding an average of 21 free kicks per game.

Chelsea and Liverpool average 4.2 cards per game which is low in the league, but with this being a cup final, we can see an above average amount of free kicks and cards. The two Premier League games involving these sides this season had a total of 13 cards shown.

This Booking Double has had a boost from 8/19.00 to 11/112.00.
