Dimitar Berbatov Says:

Leg 1: Back Spurs to win

Leg 2: Back BTTS

Leg 3: Back James Maddison to assist

Spurs need to be on the front foot from the beginning so that they take advantage of the bad condition that Chelsea are in at the moment. But Spurs can't underestimate Chelsea because if they do, they'll suffer.

Spurs must concentrate and look to continue their unbeaten streak. It's a tough game because Chelsea can be a difficult opponent. But it could be an easy one as Chelsea are making mistakes at the moment. Spurs must use those mistakes to punish them.

Spurs must win to go back to the top and I think they'll do just that.

This game has an interesting added dynamic because Mauricio Pochettino is going back to Spurs. He should get a good reception from the Spurs fans in my opinion. It will be a pity if he gets anything other than that because he gave Tottenham success, a way of playing that everyone loved, and he added great players to the squad.

Mauricio Pochettino 2023.jpgHe must be given a warm reception because he's the type of coach that, wherever he goes, he's loved. Even just his face is nice. You see him and you just want to hug him. I think he'll get a great reception.

On the pitch, this game should be a real midfield battle, and right now based on performance, you'd have to choose Spurs' midfield over Chelsea's. Yves Bissouma, Papa Sarr and James Maddison tick every box and work their ars*s off up and down the pitch.

Chelsea's midfield isn't quite working out at the moment. Their position in the table is speaking volumes. Moises Caicedo needs to start producing for Chelsea because they paid a lot of money for him. All the Chelsea players need to produce now.

Their squad should be thinking that now is the time to inflict Spurs' first loss of the season. That's why I say that Spurs can't underestimate them because Chelsea will be up for this game.

I mentioned Maddison, but how about Son Heung-Min too? Maddison has the creativity and improvisation, and Son is also now out of Harry Kane's shadow, showing what he can do and embracing the responsibility of being a captain.

Everything starts in the middle of the park though, with Bissouma and Sarr, plus the creativity of Maddison, who are moving Spurs in the right direction. You have to say that Maddison and Son will be the main players in the game against Chelsea.

However, sometimes you have an unexpected player emerge and be the hero. I don't know why but I feel Bissouma can have a big impact on this game and maybe score!

Sometimes these players just pop up and you don't know where they came from, and I always love it when this happens. He may just pop up in a position where no-one is expecting. We can keep an eye on that one, but I will go for a Maddison assist for this game.

Alex Boyes Says:

Leg 1: Over 3.5 Goals

Leg 2: Christian Romero to be carded

Leg 3: Nicolas Jackson to be carded

Leg 4: James Maddison to have 1 or more shots on target

Maddison to assist is always a great pick so Berba's bet looks great on paper, but a big game calls for a big odds bet, and I'm heading to the goals and cards market to make that happen.

I do think Spurs should win this game, but I am going to sit on the fence and not head to the WDW market. Instead, I'm going to start by adding over 3.5 goals to the Bet Builder.

I expect both teams will score. Chelsea actually have a higher xG than Spurs, but we know how they continually miss chances - they have done for a couple of seasons now. This game should be really open too, and with the derby aspect, sometimes tactics can go out the window and there should be plenty of chances.

As I mentioned, I'm next heading to the cards. Only Wolves (32) have more yellow cards than both Spurs and Chelsea (30 each) after 10 Premier League games, and I expect that high volume to continue in this derby. We all know what happened in 2016 with the 'Battle of the Bridge' and the 12 yellow cards that were shown in that game. That remains a Premier League record.

Players for both of these sides are intense footballers who run and tackle hard, and we've already seen Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson be suspended for an accumulation of bookings. He's going to be in a direct battle with Christian Romero, who we know can be severely hot-headed.

To his credit, we've seen a slightly tamer Romero this season, but Jackson will run him hard in this game and I can even see the two getting into an altercation based on their personalities.

Finally, I mentioned I liked Berba's Maddison pick, but rather than go for an assist, I'm going to add Maddison to have 1 or more shots on target. He averages more shots per 90 than Son at the moment, and over 1.0 shots on target so far this season.

Getting him at a better price than Son means I'd rather include Maddison here, to round off my four-legged Bet Builder.
