Will Terry finish above Rooney in the league? Betfair customers put the Blues as [3.1] favourites following the Community Shield
"The Community Shield result perhaps lends weight to Chelsea's current favouritism in the Premier League winner market where they trade at [3.1]. United are available at [3.35] with Liverpool ([4.8]), Arsenal ([10.0]) and Manchester City ([17.0]) rounding out the likely challengers according to Betfair’s backers and layers. "
Title favourites Chelsea draw first blood as the season gets off to a dramatic start.
Chelsea were matched at [1.02] to win the Community Shield in 90 minutes before a Wayne Rooney goal deep into injury time levelled the season opener at 2-2.
At that point the draw was available at a whopping [26.0].
The Blues went on to take the match on penalties, rewarding in-running punters who backed them in the winner market at a high of [3.6]
Earlier in the match Manchester United chiselled out a first half lead when Nani, later to leave the pitch clutching his arm, struck from the edge of the area.
The second half brought a fightback from the Londoners who scored through Frank Lampard and Ricardo Carvalho to deny the [1.59] United backers.
The result perhaps lends weight to Chelsea's current favouritism in the Premier League winner market where they trade at [3.1]. United are available at [3.35] with Liverpool ([4.8]), Arsenal ([10.0]) and Manchester City ([17.0]) rounding out the likely challengers according to Betfair's backers and layers.
