England v DR Congo tips and predictions

England v DR Congo: Back Anderson and Rice in 13/1 Bet Builder

Ste Tudor: Elliot Anderson has committed eigh foulst so far, the second highest number in the tournament, and he will be tasked on Wednesday to suppress a physical DR Congo engine-room.

His cause will be strengthened by the return of Declan Rice, the Arsenal metronome having shaken off a knock, and he appeals in the new 'Player shots created' market.

Rice boasts the best chances-per-90 ratio (5.6) of any player who has made two or more appearances.

Lastly, Jude Bellingham stands out for tackles made. Charged with charging forward, he also found the time to complete a tackle every 24 minutes across the group stage.

England v DR Congo: Back Three Lions to come good eventually

Dave Tindall: Although not quite as short as they were against Ghana and Panama, the Three Lions are once again heavy odds-on at 1/4 to get the win in 90 minutes. The Draw is 9/2 while DR Congo are 14/1 to shock England in regulation time.

To qualify, which brings in extra-time and penalties, England are just 1/10 to progress and set up a possible last-16 tie against co-hosts Mexico while DR Congo trade at 11/2.

There are two obvious ways to boost the price on England getting it done. The first is heading to the Half Time/Full Time market and backing Draw/England at 3/1. The Three Lions were level at the break in all three of their group games but upped it in the second half to beat both Croatia and Panama.

It's very easy to see that scenario playing out again, especially as in the games against opposition comparable to England (Portugal and Colombia), DR Congo were all square after 45 minutes in both.

England v DR Congo: England to squeeze past disciplined DR Congo

Jack Critchley: DR Congo were the better side against Portugal, and battered Uzbekistan. Although they were second best against Colombia, they managed to restrict the South American outfit to just a single goal.

England should win this and set up a date with Mexico in the Azteca, but DR Congo will not go down without a fight. They are dangerous going forward, and England's defence looks shaky, allowing Panama 13 shots during the 90 minutes. DR Congo's forward line, led by Yoann Wissa, is likely to be far more clinical, and they are likely to find a way past Jordan Pickford. BTTS is tremendous value.

England v DR Congo: Back Magpies man to score

Opta: Yoane Wissa has scored 75% of Congo DR's goals at the 2026 FIFA World Cup (3/4), averaging a goal every 90 minutes in the tournament. This is as many as he netted in the 2025-26 club season for Newcastle United (3), where he averaged a goal every 301 minutes across all competitions.

21:00 - Belgium v Senegal: Familiar Premier League faces star in 11/1 Bet Builder pick

Paul Higham: Both teams to score twice is in play here at 11/2 - Senegal have done that twice already and it's clear to see Belgium are full of goals when they put it all together, and an early goal here could blow this game wide open.

It's a genuine coin toss for me this one, Senegal have shown more consistency of performance even if not results, but Belgium are a question mark and just as likely to win by a couple as lose by a few - so I'll swerve the result and take the goals.

Five of Senegal's last six games have seen over 3.5 goals including all three in this tournament - and if they're playing that type of game again then Belgium are fully equipped to match them.
