Fulham take a giant step towards safety while Hammers are nailed by rampant United

Matched at [1.01] for relegation on Betfair before pulling off a two goal comeback at Manchester City last weekend, Fulham now stand at [1.66] to exit the Premier League on a huge day at the top and bottom of the division.

Birmingham have assumed the title of 'most likely to go down' at [1.21] on the exchange, following their 2-0 defeat in west London. A win for Bolton and defeat for Reading has crystalised the situation at the bottom.

The Royals, from a high of [18.5], are now in to [1.72] to be playing Championship football next season after losing 1-0 at home to Spurs. Over 1.5 goals was matched at [1.09] on Betfair after Spurs' early opener.

Wigan, who had been backed at a low of [1.65] in the relegation market, ensured they would be safe this year with a 2-0 win at Aston Villa. Steve Bruce's men were backed at [8.8] on Betfair to win the match while the 2-0 final scoreline was backed at [80.0].

Middlesbrough defeated Portsmouth by the same score to remain in the Premier League as well. Gareth Southgate's team were matched at a low of [3.0] to go down.

And that scoreline was repeated in Bolton where Megson's men beat Sunderland with late goals in either half. The 42nd minute opener saw bets at [11.5] on Betfair for a Wanderers half-time win come in.

Bolton are now [180.0] to be relegated.

Manchester United took a giant stride towards winning the league again after battering West Ham 4-1 in the day's early kick-off.

With just one game left to play, Sir Alex Ferguson's men are the [1.18] favourites to land the Premier League title with Betfair punters after destroying West Ham today.

Man Utd were unbackable on Betfair within just 26 minutes of kick-off after flying into a three goal lead against the Londoners. Matched at a high of [1.29] in very early trading, United did not go above [1.18] in-running after steamrollering Alan Curbishley's men.

A Dean Ashton goal briefly gave the Hammers hope, while Nani's sending off offered further encouragement - taking United to [1.06] in the match odds market. But all that was extinguished by Michael Carrick who scored Utd's fourth to put the game to bed.

The early goal rush prevented any big prices being matched on the over/under goals markets with over 4.5 backed at a 'high' of [5.1].

Sunday's games yielded rather less drama, Arsenal hitting [3.5] before beating Everton 1-0, and Liverpool going to a high of [1.94] in seeing off Man City by the same scoreline.
