Timber Twelve won his first two starts on the all-weather and Michael Bell's unexposed three-year-old ran his best race to resume winning ways on his latest start at Epsom. It was his first try at a mile-and-a-half.

He was a long-priced winner that day under Ross Coakley, who keeps the ride, but handled the idiosyncratic track really well, making all and going clear before being closed down late for a ready success. 

Timber Twelve ran well at Chester on his penultimate start and, heading the Timeform weight-adjusted ratings, he should take some catching from a plum draw in stall 1.

Calico Blue has won on all three of his visits to Chester, earning the 'Horses For Courses' flag for 'Hot Trainer' Roger Varian, and can keep his unbeaten track record stepping up to listed company. 

He hasn't won anywhere else in fact, but has run well elsewhere, notably when second in the valuable six-furlong handicap for three-year-olds at the Newmarket July meeting, going down by a neck to Jazl. 

Back at Chester eight days ago, Calico Blue went one better, readily landing the odds and earning the 'Sectional Timing' flag. That useful effort puts him top of the Timeform weight-adjusted ratings.

'Hot Trainer' Andrew Balding has an excellent record at Chester and his filly Dance In The Storm looks very well handicapped in this seven-furlong contest, being 5 lb clear in the Timeform weight-adjusted ratings. 

She hasn't had much luck with the draw on her last two starts but suggested she's still in good form when first home in the far-side group in the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot last time.

The draw could have been kinder to her here too, but Oisin Murphy guided her to an impressive victory over course and distance in May from a wide berth, and she needs taking seriously again.
