Grand Conqueror has done very well since going into handicap hurdles for Neil Mulholland last winter, notching a quick double last December at Plumpton and Fontwell.
He has run well since off much higher marks, finishing second at Kempton and back at Plumpton, and only beaten a head at the latter track when fitted with a hood for the first time.
Grand Conqueror ran well again on his last start when third at Fakenham in May, only beaten a length in a race that has thrown up subsequent winners. He's only 1lb higher here and heads the Timeform ratings.

Stepped up markedly in trip, Delta Blues Belle made a mockery of her handicap mark under a very confident Harry Skelton ride at Huntingdon last February, travelling powerfully and winning hard held.
She looked the type who could run up a sequence but turned out under a penalty just over a week later, she disappointed at Chepstow, presumably finding the race coming too soon.
'Hot Trainer' Dan Skelton has given her a good break since, though, and she returns with plenty of untapped potential this season, heading the Timeform weight-adjusted ratings and all set to resume her progress.

Kempton's two-mile handicap looks a good-quality contest with the top-weight running from a BHA mark of 104 and the interesting one here is Boatswain back on the all-weather for Simon Crisford.
He hasn't been disgraced on his last couple of starts on turf in a heritage handicap at the Ebor meeting and in the Mallard Handicap at Doncaster where he was patiently ridden in a steadily-run race.
However, he has won two of his three starts on the all-weather, including when bolting up at Southwell in August, and has had few tries at two miles, so looks worth a chance heading the Timeform ratings.
