This looks a competitive handicap with several progressive fillies on show, but the pick at the weights looks to be the Roger Varian-trained Lady Magu.
She didn't show much on her first two starts, but was much improved faced with soft ground for the first time when opening her account in style at Ffos Las in June, having plenty in hand, and that form has been franked since.
Lady Magu relished the step up to a mile and a half when following up on handicap debut at Wolverhampton a few weeks later, still plum last turning into the straight but finding plenty to score readily. The handicapper has had his say with an 8lb rise, but that could well underestimate her, and she's one to keep on the right side.

Wodao was rated 100 at his peak for Jamie Osborne and was a listed winner before that for Donnacha O'Brien, and he took a big step back in the right direction when ending a losing run at Redcar on just his third start for this yard.
A reapplied tongue strap and blinkers worked the oracle, as he ran his best race in over a year, making a mockery of his mark which had fallen over 20lb in a little over a year.
All of his best form is on turf, so connections will likely want to keep him busy before the campaign is out, and he has plenty of scope for further success from this sort of mark, a 5lb penalty highly likely to not stop him.

Newsreader was a useful handicapper for Kevin Phillipart de Foy in 2024, winning three times at Kempton, but he lost his way last year, and as a result has fallen down the weights.
He has joined Tony Carroll this summer, however, a yard that do especially well with new recruits, and he took a step back in the right direction at Southwell last month.
Newsreader didn't get the clearest of runs on that occasion, hampered over a furlong out and finished with running left at the line. This represents another drop in class now into a 0-65 handicap and, with the booking of Tom Marquand catching the eye, he seems sure to go well.
