Saturday horse racing tips and insight
On a cracking day of jumps racing at both Newbury and Newcastle, I'm hoping that Dominic's Fault can give a get us off to a good start in this handicap hurdle.
Olly Murphy's charge may be an eight-year-old, but he has few miles on the clock and was a winner on his penultimate start at Lingfield last season. He then went on to contest a better race at Sandown and was just working his way into contention when brought down through no fault of his own at the third last.
Whether he'd have been involved in the finish that day is open to debate, but his profile had been all positive up to that point and he again has the assistance of the excellent Sean Bowen in the saddle for this comeback run.

The New Lion looks speedy enough to cope with a drop to 2m and is selected to remain unbeaten. Constitution Hill would obviously be a huge threat if still capable of anywhere near approaching his best form but there have to be doubts after the way last season ended and it could be that the main threat comes from the exciting Anzadam.

Course-and-distance winner Give It To Me Oj has been in exceptional form this year, recording six wins from eight starts. He's bidding for a sixth successive victory here, in a great run of form which includes two Flat wins at Epsom, and should be able to make his presence felt once again.
The Gary and Josh Moore-trained contender must reverse form with Live Conti from the Grade One juvenile contest at Aintree during the spring, but represents some value at the prices and could be worth keeping onside.
His defeat of Mythical Moon on the final day of last season at Sandown could turn out to be a great piece of form, and he has put in a number of solid efforts including when beating subsequent Grade Two runner-up Hamlet's Night at Cheltenham last month.

The Doyen Chief - who should be coming into this race off the back of a win at Bangor. He made a howler at the last fence when going well and hit 10s in the run. Tom Bellamy all out of sync asking for a big one did not help.
King is coming into form and The Doyen Chief has always had this as his target.

Inch House ran very well at Cheltenham. He'd obviously had a bad injury when he had a fall for Jonjo on his last run at Ayr two years ago. I don't think he got over it last year, because at home he showed us nothing. On the track, in a race course gallop, he showed nothing. So we left him off, gave him plenty of time to get over his problems, and he came back in this year a different animal.
He needed the run at Cheltenham, there's no doubt about it. He wasn't really ready, but having had problems, we wanted to get a bit of a confidence booster into him and when you're going for a race like this you need a prep race. So that's what we did. He jumped well, travelled well, just got a bit tired from two out.
Now, he's come on massively from there. He'll have to show that improvement on Saturday but he's a lively outsider in my view.
There is a case for saying that Cruz Control finds top gear in the spring - two victories in Aintree's Freebooter Handicap certainly endorses that view as does a record of four wins from six starts during March and April.
However, the eight-year-old isn't too shabby before Christmas either (2-6 in November and December) and he could well make a winning return to action in this renewal of the Rehearsal Chase.
The Tom Lacey-trained gelding has only been beaten once in four starts at Gosforth Park and has won following a 261-day absence from the track so should be sharp enough to do himself justice, especially as he enjoyed a nice spin at the Newbury gallops morning recently.

Given he has Grand National winner Ballabriggs in his pedigree, it was unsurprising that connections tried Rath Gaul Hill over two-and-a-half and three miles over fences last term.
Neither experiment particularly paid off, albeit the son of Doyen did manage to finish a creditable runner-up over the shorter trip at Doncaster last February.
However, dropping the selection back to the minimum distance was the catalyst to his season igniting last spring when he smoothly landed back-to-back handicaps off an attractive mark at this venue and Ayr.
The seven-year-old defied a 315-day absence to collect a second course win at the end of February, before posting a solid effort in defeat in the Red Rum Chase at Aintree after which the handicapper was kind enough to drop him to a mark of 123.
There have been 240 days since we last saw Rath Gaul Hill, but his handler can get him ready first time out as we saw earlier this year and I like the booking of the in-form Brendan Powell.
