Cheltenham Day 1 - Champions Day Tuesday
Kevin said: "It's an interesting race. I am focusing on Grade 1 form, and on the Leopardstown form, and in my view Il Etait Temps did well to chase down Found A Fifty there last month. The way that race panned out, Found A Fifty had every opportunity to go and win, but Il Etait Temps came from further back and ran him down.
"You can look at his Cheltenham form and poke him a bit but I think he is just a better chaser. I don't think there is much between them - the market tells you that - but I'd be with Il Etait Temps to uphold that form."
Kevin said: "I do like The Goffer, trained by Gordon Elliott. This was a messy old race last year and Davy Russell would love to have another go at it. It has worked out to be one of the hotter handicaps at the Festival. The stable know exactly what to do and have trained him for the race. He is 2lbs lower and the case is really clear."
Kevin said: "I am against the front two here and I am with Salvador Ziggy. The preparation doesn't really bother me. They did the same last year and he ran great in the Pertemps."
Cheltenham Day 2 - Ladies Day Wednesday
Kevin said: "It's a really good race, the highest quality of the novice chases for sure. I was quite surprised they committed Fact to File to this. To me he looks like a Turners horse. He is the classiest horse in the race.
"I am a big fan of Montys Star. He is a particularly big individual and being trained by Henry I always hoped he would drive on as a chaser. I love the way he jumps fences, he does it really easy and stays really well. This has been the plan for him to have two races and go here just like Minella Indo."
Kevin said: "Deeply competitive as always but I haven't heard anyone talking about Brazil. His last few runs have been a little bit low key, but on pedigree and the way he shapes you'd be really hopeful that stepping up to a mid-range trip would be good for him. I would not be surprised if he came back to life on the big day."
Kevin said: "I wouldn't think you are mad if you laid the front two. I think Captain Guinness will be ridden the right way to outrun his odds. That would probably be my route in but it wouldn't be with any conviction."
Kevin said: "It's my old pal Harpers Brook. Yes, he is notorious, he is infamous, but we are going in with our eyes open. I just really like the trip angle, he jumps like a real two-miler. He's not fun to watch from a jumps point of view because he is low and aggressive. If it's ever going to work for him on a big stage it'll be the Grand Annual. Ben Pauling said they are going to put blinkers on him and Ben is in such good form right now."
Cheltenham Day 3 - St Patrick's Thursday
Kevin said: "If it's soft it will be a problem for Banbridge I suspect. Hopefully he runs because he is flying. We can't control the weather but hopefully it'll be fine by Thursday."
Kevin said: "I wouldn't put anyone off Teahupoo at the front end of the market. I have been talking about Home By The Lee for a while now. The price is still big. I feel you can ignore his two runs this year. He just cannot make the running. You try these things and sometimes it doesn't work out."
Kevin said: "Gaoth Chull (Gaelic for "tail wind") is on a lovely weight here, her arc of improvement is quite steep, and the trip is the thing, because she stays really well. I can definitely see the case for Gabbys Cross. I detected a bit of a confidence from Henry de Bromhead but Gaoth Chull is the one I am sticking with."
Kevin said: "Brighterdaysahead has shortened a lot as the talk has been so big. I thought she was electric last time. We are paddling in waters of the unknown a little bit. You don't see it lots with Gordon Elliott but we have been watching for the Gordon glint and I have seen the sparkle here. He is talking about her as a Gold Cup winner. That's big talk."
Cheltenham Day 4 - Gold Cup Friday
Kevin said: ""It's a super race, a bit more refined now we have the Boodles. I do like Nuburgring. His form is very solid and he will benefit from a bit of space. It's a minority view but I think he is the best juvenile in Ireland right now. Moving from Old Course to New Course will be a significant difference in suitability and so ground wise he will not be fussed."
Kevin said: "It's a really deep race, the best race of the week, can't wait to see it. I find myself in a similar position to last year. Could make cases for a bunch in behind Galopin Des Champs but I am coming to the same conclusion I did last year - I think he just wins. Ryan McCue made a really good case for laying him on Cheltenham...Only Bettor but I have to be with him. He is the best staying chaser."
