Paul Higham says a fired-up Barcelona will hit Almeria early in an emotional Gerard Pique farewell game at the Nou Camp.
- Barca have won five, drawn on and conceded no goals at home in La Liga
- Almeria have just one point from six away games
- Lewandowski has five games with 2+ first-half shots on target
- Gerard Pique makes his farewell after shock retirement announcement
If you want to talk home bankers, then how about Barcelona playing at home against the worst away team in the league Almeria - in what is now club legend Gerard Pique's final game.
Pique announced his sudden retirement during the week, and as long as Barca's players can handle the emotion of the occasion then they should be spurred on to demolish the visitors.
Almeria are 14th in the league but away from home they're bottom of the standings with just one point from six games - while Barcelona have only dropped two points at the Nou Camp, and are still yet to concede at home.
More important than Pique retiring, Xavi's side need to keep up the chase of leaders Real Madrid in the final two games before the break for the World Cup - although Pique will be the name in the headlines.
Pique hasn't been a regular, but what about a send-off goal in front of his adoring home fans? He's 4/1 to score and if the hosts have a healthy lead then he could have a chance, he may even get the nod for a late penalty or something like that.
I think Almeria could get blown out of the water here so a Barca win to nil is given - as with three away goals to their names they're not the team to break the Nou Camp duck.
The hosts will also come out firing, as they have done a few times at home this season, so over 1.5 first-half goals at 3/4 looks a nice component to add to our Bet Builder.
And we can't say we expect a big Barcelona win without including Robert Lewandowski, and trawling through some of the prohibitive odds on him, the Evens on him to have 2+ first-half shots on target makes the most appeal.
He's achieved this five times this season and he's the same price to hit 2+ first-half shots on target as he is to socre twice, and the preference is for the first-half blitz.
That should ensure Barca can say goodbye properly to Pique after a stellar career spanning 600 games for the club and 30 trophies.
