Paul Higham's best bet for Friday comes from Anfield where shots are expected to come flying in from both sides as Liverpool look to continue their resurgence against Leicester.

We're off to Anfield on Friday night for Liverpool's Premier League game against Leicester City that should provide perfect fodder for this column.

Firstly, this is Betfair's Bet 5 Get 5 on Bet Builders fixture and since we specialise in the multiples here then why not use this game for a £5 Bet Builder that will get you a free £5 Bet Builder on any sport.

And more importantly, this game looks set up for goals and chances and that provides us plenty of chances (hopefully) to pick out some player performance bets to find a nice winner.

Liverpool have won three in a row for the first time this season and now need to start putting their foot down if they're to actually challenge for the top four - and a return to Anfield after a long break will give them a huge boost.

And it's the perfect time for the Reds to make a run as they've only lost one December league game since 2016 (W28 D8) although that was against the Foxes last year.

Brendan Rodgers was unhappy with his side's application on Boxing Day but they should at least prove dangerous here as Leicester have scored in 25 of their last 27 away games, and with those matches and Liverpool's home games averaging over 3.5 goals per outing then all the ingredients are there for goals.

With goals and assists well covered as you'd expect, we'll go for a favourite of our column here which is Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez to both have 2+ shots on target.

Nunez seems to divide opinion but while you can question his finishing at times, you just can't question that he's a massive issue for opposing defences.

Personally I think criticism of the 23-year-old with just eight league starts for a huge new club in a new league is unjustified - with five goals and two assists hardly a poor return so far.

If he keeps playing like he is then more goals will flow as he's regularly threatening the goal and getting into great positions. In his last five starts alone he's had 23 shots with 14 on target.

He's had at least two shots on target in all five and has in fact had 3+ shots on target in three of those - so 5/2 for him to have another three for a third game running is a nice stand alone bet.

Salah looks like he's just starting to get going and no doubt that Nunez is helping with that, as one of them has scored in each of the last five league games they've played together - with them having at least 2+ shots on target in each of those.

We have to include Leciester in on this though given the potency away from home, and a player I always like for them to hit the target is Harvey Barnes, who should be able to get some joy ghosting in behind Trent Alexander-Arnold on any Foxes breaks.

He was poor against Newcastle but so was basically everyone else in a Leicester shirt, and before that he'd hit the target in eight league games in a row - while also scoring in five of those.

If you fancy Leciester to score then 4/1 on Barnes being the man to get it looks appealing, but we'll settle on the 5/6 on him testing Alisson at some stage in what projects to be an entertaining Friday night at Anfield.
