Lee Carsley may make changes for England's final group game

Paul Higham has a 12/1 Bet Builder for England's meeting with old foes Germany at the U21 Euro Championship, where the Germans are hanging by a thread...

  • Germany need a win to stand any chance of going through

  • England already through and confirmed in top spot

  • Back 12/113.00 Bet Builder on cards, corners & a shot on target

England are already through to the knockouts after two 2-0 wins over Israel and the Czech Republic, but old foes Germany are on the verge of being dumped out.

The reigning champions have drawn and lost after some wasteful performances up front - including incredibly missing two penalties against Israel - so finishing off chances is obviously the glaring problem for the Germans.

Even a win may not be enough, but the three points is the minimum requirement and they'll hope Lee Carsley makes a host of changes that leaves the Young Lions a bit disjointed.

There's plenty of quality in this young England squad though, with the likes of Cole Palmer, Oliver Skipp and Harvey Elliott possible changes to the starting line-up.

England's players are playing for places i n the knockouts, while a desperate Germany are playing to just stay in the tournament.

Leg 1: Over 9.5 corners

Germany had 11 corners in their last game, while England notched six against the same Czech Republic side, and I just don't see this game being a dull encounter.

The Germans simply have to go for it, but even a changed England side will be dangerous and won't take a backward step.

At odds against, it's worth backing the corner count to creep into double figures at 6/52.20.

Leg 2: Germany most cards

England lead the card count in this tournanment by one (6-5) but the need is much greater for Germany and that will at some stage manifest itself in terms of fouls.

Whether it's early as they look for a fast start, or later on if things aren't going their way, it makes sense to back them to have the most cards at 13/102.30.

Leg 3: Harvey Elliott shot on target

We're taking a bit of a punt for this last leg, but one that I think is worth it with Harvey Elliott 8/52.60 to have just 1+ shot on target.

The Liverpool forward has just made a couple of subsitute appearances so far but should get more minutes here - if not start.

He's always happy to pull the trigger on that trusty left peg, and finished off the domestic season with shots on target in his last two games.

Elliott had five shots, with two on target, in just under 45 minutes of football, so if Carsley gives him enough time he should deliver this comfortably.

Back over 9.5 corners in England U21 v Germany U21, Germany most cards & Harvey Elliott 1+ shot on target @ 12/113.00
