Tobias Gourlay reckons there's a good chance of goals as Eintracht Frankfurt make their Champions League debut

Eintracht Frankfurt v Sporting Lisbon
Wednesday 17:45 (Live on BT Sport Extra)

In Dortmund last night, Edin Terzic's hosts left Kev agonisingly short of a winner. Reus got his goal early, the hosts won 3-0, but they only managed four corners.

Kev's passed the baton but we're sticking in Germany today. Portuguese runners-up Sporting Lisbon are headed to Eintracht Frankfurt - who have made it to Europe's top table as last season's Europa League winners. This is Eintracht's first ever Champions League game, but they can take confidence from German sides' excellent home record against Portuguese oppo: W13-D2-L0 since late 2006.

Europa League success also seems to be decent preparation for a Champions League campaign: the last six Europa winners have all got out of their Champions League group. But to extend that streak in a group also containing Spurs and Marseille, Eintracht will know they need something from this home game.

Oliver Glasner's men would love to emulate Sheriff Tiraspol, who won their maiden Champions League fixture last season - though the Moldovans were only the second debutants to achieve that in 19 attempts since the start of 2013/14. There are a few signs that Eintracht could do it. In the Bundesliga this season, they are on an upward trajectory: having been crushed 6-1 by Bayern here on the opening day, they drew their next two and have now won their last two. After winning 4-3 at Bremen, they thrashed RB Leipzig 4-0 here at the weekend.

Eintracht have got goals in them - indeed they scored in all 13 Europa League games they played last season. But there is a weakness at the other end of the pitch, where they conceded at least once in 11/13 of those matches. On home turf in the Bundesliga the Eagles have managed clean sheets in just 4/20 since the start of last term.

Can Sporting take advantage? Well, they've had a mixed start to the new Primeira Liga campaign (W2-D1-L2). On the road they are W1-D1-L1 - drawing 3-3 with Braga, losing 3-0 at rivals Porto, and finally beating Estoril 2-0. We reckon there's enough here to believe the Lions can find at least one goal at Deutsche Bank Park tonight. But with Both Teams To Score an odds-on shot for this one, we want to find a slightly more exciting punt.

Daichi Kamada is the man we've been looking for. The attacking midfielder was Eintracht's top scorer in the Europa League last season (five goals) and has started the new season well. He's scored on three of his last four club appearances, including both of his last two outings at Deutsche Bank Park. Use the Exchange's Bet Builder to put Kamada to score in a double with BTTS and you'll get odds of more than 9/2. That's more like it.
