Stuart Attwell: Averaging over five cards per game in the Premier League this season

Two ill-disciplined teams and a strict referee mean our football props column is happy to back a 15/1 cards double at Bramall Lane on Sunday afternoon...

As I largely expected, Arsenal ran riot yesterday yet our 41/142.00 Bet Builder, which I felt stood a good chance in that scenario, didn't even get close to winning.

Such is life.

Yet a miserable run isn't going to stop me chasing the big winner and Sunday's opening Premier League game looks to provide a decent opportunity.

This is arguably the weekend's top-flight game with the best chance of exploding into a card-fest.

Leg 1: Facundo Buonanotte to be shown a card

Sheffield United and Brighton are both in the top five when it comes to bookings, while referee Stuart Attwell was the third-strictest official in card terms coming into the weekend, averaging more than five per game.

There were six shown in the reverse fixture, which ended 1-1, so my approach here is to try to find a player from each team to go into Mr Attwell's book.

The value call on the blue side of the ball looks to be Facundo Buonanotte, who is on offer at 4/15.00.

The Argentine has been carded in five of his 14 starts this season and while those numbers may make you wonder if he'll be in the XI at Bramall Lane on Sunday, he has actually started Brighton's last eight games.

He's committed 15 fouls in that period and drawn even more so there should be plenty of opportunity for a flashpoint.

At the price, Buonanotte is worth a try.

Leg 2: Jayden Bogle to be shown a card

On Sheffield United's team, right-back Jayden Bogle gets the nod at 11/53.20.

He's been carded in seven of his last 13 Premier League starts which highlights his suitability.

Bogle is also set to go up against Kaoru Mitoma, one of Brighton's most dangerous players, down his side of the field in this contest.

Again, definite potential there.

The pair were both carded in November's reverse fixture and with a repeat here on offer at around 15/116.00, a Bet Builder double looks the order of the day.

Back Buonanotte & Bogle both to be shown a card @ around 15/116.00
