Lewis Dunk: Has managed a shot in nine of his 13 games this season

Our football props column has a three-legged 7/2 Bet Builder for Thursday evening's Europa League showdown between Ajax and Brighton...

  • BTTS keeps on delivering for Brighton

  • Dunk and Gross both look overpriced

  • Back 7/2 Bet Builder in Amsterdam

Leg 1: Both teams to score

When it comes to Brighton, both teams to score has become a Bet Builder staple this season.

It's landed in 13 out of their 15 games, highlighting their attacking philosophy (they've scored in every game bar one) but also their defensive frailty.

Admittedly, one of the odd matches out was the reverse fixture when the Seagulls won 2-0 but at the time, Ajax were in the depths of despair, a 10-game run without a win being their worst since professional football began in the Netherlands in the 1950s.

New boss John van't Schip has helped steady the ship (sorry) since - two home Eredivisie games over the past week have both been won with six goals scored.

Brighton represent a tougher test but they are hardly in sparkling form - they've won just one of eight - and I'd expect the hosts to find the net here.

Ajax have now had both teams score in 10 of their 15 matches so the stats are strong and this makes the coupon.

Leg 2: Lewis Dunk 1+ shot

Two other bets stand out, the first in the shots market.

Lewis Dunk's aerial threat is well known and the Brighton skipper is someone who has been underrated for much of the season on this front.

He's 5/61.84 for 1+ shot in this match despite having delivered in nine of his 13 starts this season, including five of the last six. On five occasions, he's had multiple shots so some may want to consider the 2+ option at 9/25.50.

Leg 3: Pascal Gross 1+ foul

Finally, Pascal Gross looks good for 1+ foul at 8/131.61.

He's landed this in eight of 12 starts this season. Go back further and he also hit the mark in his last six of 2022/23.

Gross is usually in the heart of the battle in midfield, although it seems most likely he'll play at left-back here, a position where the Seagulls have something of an injury crisis at present.

Playing in an usual position and going up against Steven Berghuis - three assists in those two Ajax wins - should ensure he commits at least one foul.

Put the three legs together for a Bet Builder which pays 7/24.50.

Back both teams to score, Dunk 1+ shot & Gross 1+ foul @ 7/24.50
