Premier League football tips and predicitions

19:30 - Burnley v Newcastle: Alan Shearer's prediction

Alan Shearer: Newcastle's away form has not been good enough; they have just one win away from home in the league all season. The pressure is really on. I have a feeling Eddie may change the system and play both Woltemade and Wissa.

I'm going to go for an away win. Brave to predict that, but I don't like the look of Burnley. If Newcastle are looking for an away fixture, this should be it.

It would be a terrible result for Newcastle to go there and get beaten given how poor Burnley are, if Newcastle lose, then the noise will get louder for Eddie Howe.

Alan's Prediction:Newcastle Win

19:30 - Chelsea v Bournemouth: Expect few goals

The Opta Stat:

Bournemouth are winless in their last eight Premier League matches against Chelsea (D4 L4), with the last two ending as draws - only two of the first 15 meetings between the teams had been drawn. The teams drew 0-0 earlier in December.

20:15 - Arsenal v Aston Villa: Emery to frustrate his former team

Kevin Hatchard: Our friends at Opta tell us that Villa have won three of their last five Premier League meetings with Arsenal, including the reverse fixture, which was a 2-1 success for Villa earlier this month. Despite their depleted resources in midfield and defence, Villa are finding ways to win, even when they aren't playing particularly well.

We can back Villa +1.0 on the Asian Handicap here at 2.3, which gives us an odds-against winner if Villa avoid defeat, and returns out stake if Unai Emery's team loses by just one goal. Villa have lost just twice on the road in the league this term, and their only defeat by a multiple-goal margin was a 2-0 loss at Liverpool.

Arsenal have won just one of their last six top-flight games by two goals or more, and even that was a 2-0 success against Brentford that was sealed by a stoppage-time goal from Bukayo Saka. You have to go back to 2021 for the last time Arsenal won a home game against Arsenal by two goals or more.

20:15 - Man Utd v Wolves: Back Red Devils at 10/3

Mark Stinchcombe: I felt hard done by at Anfield on Saturday afternoon having backed Wolves to be level at half-time and lose the game only for Liverpool to open the scoring in the forty-first minute and go on to win. As a result, I have to go back in again on a bet that's won in seven of their last eight games when we can get 10/3 and Man Utd are only 1/3 to win the match.

Eemember Wolves have lost their last 11 Premier League matches and conceded at least two goals in nine of those. However, with Bruno Fernandes injured and both Bryan Mbuemo and Amad Diallo away at the African Cup of Nations, it could take the home side longer to break down Wolves.
