Manchester United are favourites to beat Liverpool for the first time since 2017 on Sunday. Is it warranted? Of course, but I'm happy steering clear of the Match Odds and Handicap markets here with both teams having almost assured themselves of Champions League qualification.
Instead, invest attention on Bruno Fernandes extending his exceptional recent form with another assist, considering he's managed at least one in 11 of his past 15 appearances and 17 (68%) of 25 matches for Man Utd going further back.
Fernandes is averaging 0.63 assists per-90 across the whole campaign and is streets clear at the top of the Chances Created rankings in the Premier League, racking up 114 thus far - that's 53 more than the next best. The United skipper also comfortably leads the Expected Assists (xA) leaderboard and is a threat from open play and set-pieces.
Chasing the EPL Assists record, Fernandes will be aided by the availability of both Harry Maguire and Casemiro here, especially with Liverpool boasting one of the worst records for conceding goals from set-pieces. West Ham and Bournemouth have each leaked 17 from dead-ball situations - the Reds are next on that list having hemorrhaged 16!
Chuck in the fact, Liverpool have leaked at least twice in six of seven trips to top-half teams and in 10 of 17 away days in total, and Bruno should get opportunities to enhance his exceptional record. After all, he's already created goals against top-six rivals Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Brighton this term.
With Fernandes too short to support in the Assist market, we can be a bit more inventive by focusing on the aforementioned pair of Maguire and Casemiro. Liverpool have scored just four first-half goals in their past 18 away days, so back a Fernandes Assist alongside Maguire 65.841621/25 and Casemiro 22.812181/100 in the First Goalscorer market at lumpy prices.
Casemiro has now scored five goals in his last 11 outings and the Bruno-Casemiro combination is the most lethal partnership in the Premier League this term, with the duo combining together for six goals. Meanwhile, Maguire has endured an injury-hit campaign, though one of his two goals did come in the reverse clash at Anfield.
Casemiro is avergaing a very healthy 1.78 shots per-90 with Maguire hitting a reasonable 0.96 shots per-90 with the centre-half managing two in Monday night's win against Brentford, a match in which Casemiro found the net.
We'll also have an interest in the duos Shots on-Target prices too with Casemiro available to support at 5/42.25 and Harry Maguire paying 11/43.75. The former has landed the bounty in eight of his most recent 13 fixtures and the latter hitting the target twice on MNF.
