Betfair Sportsbook suspended betting on the Next Liverpool manager market after Ruben Amorim shortened to 1/51.20 to succeed Jurgen Klopp.

The 39-year-old was reported by Sky Germany to have reached a 'verbal agreed' to take the job following talks with the Liverpool board.

He is currently the manager of Sporting Lisbon where has has a release clause in his contract that the Anfield club will have to meet.

Amorim has reportedly been on Bayern Munich's radar as they seek a successor to Thomas Tuchel and the Sporting boss is 5/16.00 in the next Barcelona manager betting.

On the Betfair Exchange, where he is currently 1.321/3, he was matched at a high of 46.045/1 to become Liverpool's next manager. For several weeks after Klopp announced his decision to leave this summer, Xabi Alonso was the odds-on favourite but he decided to stay at Bayer Leverkusen.

He has become one of the hottest properties in European football after guiding Sporting to the Portuguese title in his first season in charge (2020/21). They are currently four points clear at the top of the table.

Reds focus on giving Klopp perfect end

Liverpool are 23/103.30 to win the Premier League after dropping to second in the table due to their 2-2 draw at Manchester United on Sunday.

Klopp's nine year reign has been thrilling, with one Premier League title and three Champions League finals, including the one they won in 2019.

They have already won the EFL Cup this season but a second league title is the ending that Klopp and Liverpool's fans crave.
