Manchester City 1.101/10 booked their place in the FA Cup fifth round on Friday night as Nathan Ake's late goal secured a 1-0 victory at Tottenham, the Citizens' first goal and success at Spurs' new stadium. The tie looked to be heading for a replay before Ake scrambled in after Guglielmo Vicario dropped a corner, though City were deserving victors.
Pep Guardiola's group produced an impressive performance that only lacked an end product, until Ake's last-gasp intervention. Man City conceded just a solitary shot against Tottenham in a controlled display, whilst the visitors were able to give more minutes to Kevin de Bruyne off the bench. Star striker Erling Haaland is now also close to a return.
Understandably, Guardiola was happy with his side's efforts post-match, saying: "From the statistics and the way we played I was really pleased. We performed incredibly well. We create a lot in every game and have courage with and without the ball, so I'm really pleased" before hinting that Haaland could feature against Burnley in midweek.
Burnley 30.0029/1 are back in action for the first time since conceding a controversial 92nd-minute equaliser against Luton in a crunch clash at the bottom of the Premier League.
The Clarets looked set to claim a rare victory after a dogged performance before Town levelled late on with VAR approving Luton's goal despite a clear nudge on keeper James Trafford.
Clarets head coach Vincent Kompany was furious with the highly contentious equaliser, especially so after his side dropped more points from a promising position.
He said, "My view is the same as everyone's view. My view is the same as anyone who has played the game. This can't decide a game. Something done by a bit of magic but not this. Not this."
Kompany is hoping the frustration will fuel a bounce back from Burnley, who may hand a debut to loan signing David Datro Fofana in attack. Elsewhere, Sander Berge, Aaron Ramsey, Jordan Beyer and Hannes Delcroix are doubts with Nathan Redmond, Luca Koleosho and Charlie Taylor all absent and unavailable for the short trip to Manchester.
Man City have dominated this fixture in the recent past, taking top honours in 16 of the last 17 meetings with Burnley across all competitions. The Citizens have actually tabled 12 successive wins against the Clarets by an aggregate score of 43-1 and are also unbeaten in top-flight home games against the Turf Moor club since 1963 (W11-D5-L0).
Burnley head to The Etihad with just 12 points - only one club has accrued fewer Premier League points after 21 games and survived relegation (West Brom in 2004/05), whilst only five of those points have been earned against non-promoted teams this term (W1-D2-L15) with the Clarets conceding three goals in each of their two toughest away days thus far.
It's difficult to decipher exceptional betting value in such a lopsided betting heat but the [11/8] on Manchester City to score Over 1.5 First-Half Goals holds plenty of appeal. The Citizens are a flawless W9-D0-L0 across the opening 45 minutes at The Etihad this season, striking twice or more in five of those nine fixtures (averaging 1.67 first-half goals).
The 11/82.38 suggests our proposed play has only a 42% chance of success and appears to slightly underrate Man City's chances of making a strong start having provided profit in eight of 15 home Premier League dates with bottom-half sides since the start of last season.
