Man Utd 15/28.50 for bottom half finish
Erik ten Hag is evens on Betfair Sportsbook to leave Manchester United before Christmas as he prepares for a crucial run of games knowing that his job is on the line.
United have endured their worst start to a season for 60 years, losing eight of their 15 matches.
They are at Fulham in the Premier League's early kick-off on Saturday before playing Copenhagen in the Champions League in midweek.
Two more defeats and Ten Hag gone is 14/1
The Red Devils are 14/115.00 to lose both their next two matches and precipitate the sacking of Ten Hag before 25 November.
After losing 3-0 at home twice in the last week that is not out of the question.
The Betfair Sportsbook odds on Ten Hag becoming the next Premier League manager to leave his job were slashed to 2/13.00 from 9/110.00 after they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Newcastle on Wednesday. Prior to that they were outclassed by Manchester City at Old Trafford.
United will not meet opponents of that calibre in south west London or Denmark, but their lacklustre performances mean any team they meet has a chance of beating them.
The festive period was not happy for Ten Hag's predecessors with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sacked on 22 November 2021 and Jose Mourinho dismissed on 18 December 2018. United are not the kind of employers to baulk at putting somebody out of a job at Christmas.
Ten Hag is said to retain the board's confidence for now and you can back him at 7/101.70 to still be in charge come 25 December.
United 15/2 for bottom half finish
How far will United fall this season? It is exactly 50 years since they were relegated in 1973/74 and you can get 300/1301.00 on a repeat this season.
That sounds inconceivable, with the talent in the United squad, and they are still eighth in the table in spite of their poor start. But they have gone backwards this season and arguably haven't played well in a single league match.
A bottom-half finish is 15/28.50 and those odds suggest it is not beyond the realms of possibility. United have looked sluggish this term and it is difficult to find reasons to believe that they will get better any time soon.
Ten Hag needs them to improve immediately. The club backed him after the defeat to City but the loss to Newcastle was sobering and if they are beaten by Fulham the odds on an imminent exit will shorten.
On paper, their next three matches are winnable, though the opposition may be thinking the same. They travel to Fulham, host Luton and then make a trip to Goodison Park and Sean Dyche's Everton. If you think there's a chance they lose all three, you can back that here at 80/181.00.
