Premier League Results: United and City set for derby decider

Sir Alex Ferguson has already said it will be the biggest Manchester derby that he has been involved in. No wonder. Next Monday, April 30, United will travel to the Etihad Stadium to play City in a match that will surely decide the Premier League title race.

Following a thrilling 4-4 draw with Everton today, United are 1.528/15 to win the title with City, who beat Wolves 2-0, 2.915/8. United lead their neighbours by three points but City have superior goal difference so if they win next Monday they will replace the Reds at the top of the table with two games to play.

If United don't end the season as champions they will have only themselves to blame. They traded a 1.01 today before twice surrendering two goal advantages. They went behind in the first-half to Nikica Jelavic but goals from Wayne Rooney, Danny Wellbeck and Nani established a 3-1 lead. United looked as if they might go on to complete a rout but Marouane Fellaini, who was a class apart in midfield, put Everton back in touch before Rooney grabbed his second of the match to make it 4-2.

But the match wasn't over. Jelavic, who looks like one of the signings of the season, scored again before Steve Pienaar's late strike made it 4-4. The draw was matched at 80.079/1, whoever backed over 7.5 goals at 140.00139/1 can afford to have champagne with their Sunday roast and this was one of - if not the - game of the season.

A couple of hours later, City held their nerve as they went to Molineux to take on Wolves. Sergio Aguero was on target in the first-half - he does appear to relish playing along his compatriot, Carlos Tevez - and Samir Nasri added a second 16 minutes from time. For Wolves, the result means they return to the Championship after they became the first Premier League team to be relegated this team. Around the start of the season, they touched 9.28/1 for the drop.

Few delight in watching teams go down but it cannot be denied that this was a very good day for Wolves' Black Country rivals West Brom. They pulled off a 16.015/1 win at Anfield - their first for over 45 years - as Peter Odemwingie fired his shot past Pepe Reina with 15 minutes to go. The result means more pressure on Kenny Dalglish as Liverpool languish in eighth position in the table. Victory will have been especially sweet for his predecessor, Roy Hodgson, the Baggies manager.
