Serie A Tips: Juventus poor form will continue with 6/4 shot

Juventus manager Max Allegri
Max Allegri's Juventus have gone four games without a win

Dan Fitch has his money on Roma to avoid defeat against struggling Juventus, as he previews the cream of the weekend Serie A action.

  • Empoli will win relegation dogfight

  • Roma can bounce back against Old Lady

  • Easy win for Atalanta against relegated side

  • Udinese in with a chance against leaky Napoli

Empoli v Frosinone (Sunday, 14:00)

Sunday's Serie A action includes a crucial match in the relegation zone, as Empoli host Frosinone.

Both clubs are currently outside of the bottom three, but only just. Frosinone are 18th and Empoli 17th, with the struggling sides a mere two points ahead of Udinese in 18th. They both have reason to feel optimistic. Empoli have won their last two home games, defeating Torino and Napoli.

Frosinone are unbeaten in five (W1 D4). They won 3-0 against relegated Salernitana last weekend, but they remain the only team in Serie A without an away win (this season (P17 D6 L11). The stats suggest that Empoli's form is more likely to hold up and you can back them to win at 13/102.30.

Back Empoli at 13/102.30

Roma v Juventus (Sunday, 19:45)

Roma will be looking to bounce back when they host Juventus on Sunday.

Daniele De Rossi's side lost 2-0 in the home leg of their Europa League semi-final tie against Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday. With it now seeming unlikely that Roma will reach a second successive final in that competition, their focus must return to Serie A, where they face a battle to hang onto their Champions League qualification place.

Roma are currently fifth in the table, with Atalanta only two points behind them, with a game in hand. Third placed Juventus look set to qualify for the Champions League, but that is down to their early season exploits rather than their current form. The Old Lady are without a win in four (D3 L1), so combine Roma double chance with both teams to score at 6/42.50.

Salernitana v Atalanta (Monday, 17:00)

Atalanta can put the pressure on Roma if they perform as expected against Salernitana.

Like Roma, Gian Piero Gasperini's men were involved in the semi-finals of the Europa League in midweek. Unlike Roma, they have put themselves in a great position to reach the final, having drawn 1-1 at Marseille in the first-leg. It could be the second cup final that they play in this season, with the Coppa Italia climax against Juventus taking place later this month.

It's one of many huge matches that Atalanta face before the season concludes, with a crunch league game against Roma to come next week. This game against the already-relegated Salernitana should be as easy as it gets from here on in. Back Atalanta to win half-time/full-time at 10/111.91.

Udinese v Napoli (Monday, 19:45)

Udinese desperately need a result against Napoli as they look to climb out of the relegation zone.

They have turned to one of Italy's biggest football heroes to deliver salvation. Fabio Cannavaro has been in charge of the team for two games, losing 2-1 to Roma in the resumption of that delayed fixture and then drawing 1-1 at Bologna last weekend. That result gives Udinese hope of picking up more points against a Napoli side that have only won one of their last eight games across all competitions (D4 L3).

A lack of goals has been a major problem for Udinese this season, but Napoli have conceded in each of their last 15 games. This is another game in which to combine the home side in the double chance market, with both teams to score, this time at odds of 8/52.60.

Back Udinese double chance and both teams to score at 8/52.60
